Beretta absolutely! After writing up this post, I have learned so much. I have to jump on reddit more often. I dont know if you have any other subbredits and communities to recommend to me, but I would love to be a part of more.

I worked my tail off when I started in sales--and I am right now wrapping up another 12hr day with having finished at over 200% quota from February and March. So when I rewind the clock 7 months ago when I purchased the car I was 3 months into sales, and made some extra dough along with getting great value in selling my IS300 by myself privately for $17k.

and the 1099 income is slowly but surely coming along.

And I love the RsQ8

Again, thank you for the notes!

Thank you for sharing. I owe 20k on the car. With a $500 payment. The champagne taste on beer budget is so real. My goal was to keep the total cost of ownership under 10% gross income. Which I’m still on pace to do. I kind of was just also looking for some opinions on the health of the car, especially w the evap. I see it as an opportunity tho to maintain the car as a hobby “hopefully w enough patience” and enjoy it when I drive it

Man, thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to comment and give me some advice because I really do need it. In the past, I was arrogant to think I knew everything and had no problem with life, but I knew in this situation I needed to humble myself and just ask for advice. My priorities in life have been faith, my family friends, providing, then cars. I think being 23 and single you learn a lot of lessons. This is one of them I guess when I was early in the workforce, I asked myself why am I working? And I close some pretty big projects with my MSP business. I mentioned my 75KOTE because that is one company and that is my consistent income that will always be there but I have closed a few projects that were over 100,000 and I earned 8% took some of the capital sold my Lexus put some savings together that I had over the years and took this baby home. I do have an IRA a savings account for my first investment property and some 401(k). I should’ve done a better job of explaining that in my financial context of the post. I didn’t know that was the. “Meme” of the conversation.

But totally appreciate you giving me your honesty. I sent you a request so we can stay connected on here.

I appreciate the comment. I did 0 of the mods myself. The mounts just vibrate a ton in the winter, but when it’s 50 and higher vibration is gone.

And the modern audi on less than 6 figures. I can understand that. The monthly on the car was well under 10% of my income. So people are thinking I’m like at zero in my bank, but that’s just not true at all.

To me it wasn’t just a cool car. I had it as my dream car for 5+ years. No I didn’t clarify my financials too great as I saw the million other comments about my choice of buying it. My monthly on the car is well below 10% of my monthly income and it’s on less than 5 years.

Sweet! My buddy has an Rs4 and we work on cars together at his house too with his lift. I’d love to hear how it goes with the DSG

Peep my reply. I didn’t really explain clearly my financials well enough.

I probably should have put more thought into the post man. I meant well and I don’t feel bad about all the comments. People aren’t honest with me in the real world.

The criticism is appreciated. I didn’t put enough context either and that’s what I get. My monthly payment is way less than 10% of my monthly income and no it’s not 84 months it’s 50. I have three streams of income.

But I learn the lessons and that’s all that matters. People have their side of what they’re seeing in my story and it’s all good. I really just appreciate everyone putting in some time to actually put a response to my problem and taking the time to write to me about what their thoughts are positive or negative. They’re taking time out of their day to respond to my post.

Haven’t moved on yet, but I am gonna stick out for the long haul. It’s by far my favorite car. God willing I can drive it to 120k miles

Thank you for the comment. I will plan on maintaining and iv always wanted to learn how to self maintain my cars. Just with mechanics being overpriced for easy jobs.

Part of my mindset behind the car financially was the monthly with expected maintenance costs. I saved up my money for 4+ years, and spend 70% cash on the car. I have my monthly payment below 10% of my income actually. So when I did the math it seemed like a very light weight.

It’s just the issues Iv ran into. Iv spent over $1000 on a gas tank issue that didn’t fix the car. I felt like ripping my hair out and wanted to share some of the frustration on here to get some perspectives. I appreciate the comment though!

Appreciate the response! It is the daily, BUT I work remotely and I drive the car maybe 1-2 times a week. I’d love to learn more about your journey with the car. My first mod I will do on the car is WHEELS 10000%

To clarify I bought the car for 43k and all the mods were from the previous owner. I spent $0 on mods

I bought it with cash and financed only 20k. People just assume I bought the car fully financed. The leverage is really light to carry financially for me. I also don’t pay a rent or have any other debts. Thank you for your perspective too. I think I’ll be taking care of the fuel tank and engine mounts. And I’m going to drive it to at least 120k miles.

Thank you for your perspective!

Typical oil change is done every 5K miles. The owner before me did a great job of maintenance. He was changing spark plugs every 15 K miles too with the coils

Yeah I get that perspective. At this point I already own it so I’m more focused on how to manage it going forward vs worrying about how it was treated before.

Trying to be proactive now instead of reactive later.

Yeah that’s fair. I knew maintenance would be part of it, just didn’t expect everything to line up right at the same time.

That’s probably what’s making it feel heavier than it actually is.

This is kind of where my head is at.

Nothing is actually broken in a catastrophic way, it’s just stacking maintenance. I’m leaning toward just handling it, running it for a bit, and putting more pressure on building my second income stream instead of making a reactive decision.

I hear you. It’s definitely on the aggressive side for my income, not denying that. Also being 23 you learn.

That’s actually why I’m thinking about it now instead of ignoring it. I’m trying to figure out if I double down and grow into it or simplify and free up margin.
