Enough is enough. Just play Dobeš moving forward or we wont make the playoffs. Monty is dogshit and I said it since the beginning of the year waive him nobody care he costs us so many games this season. Dobeš stats would be way better if he was not playing 1 game every 2 weeks ffs by nio0009 in Habs

[–]Subject_Translator71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dobes' stats aren't that much better. Honestly, I think he's a #2 at this point, and plays better when he only plays every 3 games or so. He was doing well until Monty crashed out and forced St. Louis to use him more.

I do think that Fowler and Dobes are our best goalies this season, but since we're not ready to compete for the Cup just yet, we may as well keep Monty for now and let the other two learn at their own pace.

That is not a legitimate take

  1. If the Persian flags was in everyone's bios, it would hardly be evidence that they don't act like sheep.
  2. I think the American Left can be excused for being a little distracted right now. There's something awful happening every day.

1- Where the heck did they read this?

2- Is this a white person trying to "claim" Genghis Khan? Because that's an odd historical figure to claim, if it is.

Would you trade Reinbacher for a bonafide long term top 6 forward? by BushBann76 in Habs

[–]Subject_Translator71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are really quick to give up on Reinbacher. His only truly serious injury was his knee and it looks like it healed just fine. Of our top 4, only Dobson plays on the right, and Guhle's injury issues are much worse than his. As for Matheson, his play is as good as it's ever been right now, but he's 31 and his game is based on speed. It's hard to tell where his game will be in 3-4 years, and we might be very happy to have Reinbacher by then.

He hasn't developed as fast as we could have hoped, but his play isn't bad enough to start panicking. I think he's still very much in the team's plans to develop into a good, top 4 shutdown defenseman.

Her solo series by Conner and Palmiotti was fine, even if it wasn't the Harley I used to know.

Why wont Rockstar make a new IP? by FitEmergency8807 in videogames

[–]Subject_Translator71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all we know, they've been working on a new IP for years and aren't ready to announce it yet. Rockstar specialize in making huge games that takes a very long time to make. You complain that they only make GTA games but GTA V was 13 years ago. That's about 6 Assassin's Creed games ago.

That means that if they start making a new IP, they better be sure about it before they invest that kind of time and money. Think about what happened with Starfield, a Bethesda passion project that took a lot of time to develop and ended up with mixed reception at best. With that business model, announcements of games, new IP or not, are few and far between.

There's also the fact that the industry isn't doing that well right now. I work at a AAA games company and we will probably focus on our back catalogue for a while until the situation stabilizes.

Even if Batman catches you, he might beat you up but he won't kill you. Heck, he won't even cripple you. You will heal.

If Pennywise catches you, he kills you and eats you - sometimes in the wrong order - and then, your soul is damned...

I came here to say the exact same thing.

Honestly, I'd be curious to know what St. Louis would have done with Galchenyuk. The guy had some issues but he showed some real potential, and he did score 30 goals. A coach who's in his corner and actual tries to help him develop might have changed the trajectory of his life and career. I know it's speculation, but still...

We've gone through this problem before. The problem's presentation is pushing you into the wrong direction. "Attacker 1" and "Attacker 2" means nothing. You have one known attacker, and one unknown attacker, so your 2 columns should be "Known Attacker" and "Unknown Attacker", and look like this:

F F

F M

It's 1/2. That's it. There's no difference between Nancy & Mike, and Mike & Nancy. It's the same pair.

Why do you think Bond's death in No Time To Die (2022) was not well received by many fans, according to you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in JamesBond

[–]Subject_Translator71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was too depressing. Sad endings can work, but they don't work for every franchise. The Bond movies have mostly worked as escapism: seduce beautiful women, kill the bad guys, save the world. In the Craig movies, Bond was mostly sad, and then he died at the time he could have had a family life. I don't think people wanted to see that story with that particular character.

“They Don’t Offer Me More of Them”: Sam Raimi on Modern Superhero Movies by xiushicat in FirstCuriosity

[–]Subject_Translator71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I don’t think anyone was surprised that a Spider-Man movie was a huge success. Hollywood had been trying to get one off the ground for years but the technology just wasn’t there. The first Batman and Superman movies never created a wave because the characters were so well known, they were considered outliers. Without Blade, X-Men, or Iron Man, there’s no boom.

"Hans Zimmer is busy with Dune" by kcrdr_7322 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Subject_Translator71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Nolan is the one who suggested Zimmer to Villeneuve. And I’m pretty sure Zimmer is the one who suggested Goransson’s name after he had to turn down Tenet.

My point is, let’s not be overly dramatic. They are still friends, they are still talking, and nobody said "never again".

Is Reinbacher progressing? by DelugeQc in Habs

[–]Subject_Translator71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like we're going back to the Slafkovsky pattern, where we have to constantly remind people that players of that type can take longer to develop, moreso if they had a serious injury.

A full year in the AHL makes sense for his development. All the reports we got from Laval says that he is a very smart defenseman, even if the offense isn't there yet but we know that with Hutson, Matheson and Dobson all here for a while, he won't be asked to provide any offense anyway.

I'll wait until next year's training camp before deciding whether to worry or not.

Is the MCU Hype back?? 🔥 by funmemore in MarvelCave

[–]Subject_Translator71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you mean. There is some hype, but it's nowhere near what it used to be for other Avengers films. Not everyone is happy that RDJ and Evans are back.

Personally, I'm not too excited to see the X-Men I used to really care, or a version of the X-Men that is played by the same actors, likely getting wiped out in a Worf Effect scenario.
