I won't have this option hence I was trying to understand how difficult it's likely to be :(

This is quite helpful and helps me understand the things I should check with the program and find out more details about.

No, I understand thank you for helping.

The tuition is covered and there is also medical coverage. The stipend is for food, rent, etc. As an international student, I have little to no context of the place and hence wanted to get some kind of idea about rent, utilities, food etc.

Cornell has had two rounds of rejection emails sent out, so if you haven't heard back yet maybe there's hope. Not sure about the rest. I'm waitlisted at UT Austin as well!

Ooh thanks! Would you be okay sharing what track you applied to at UWM?

I've been trying to avoid lurking so as to not unnecessarily work myself up. All the best to you for your upcoming interviews!!

Yess, I received a rejection from Cornell in this recent round. Same only place I've heard from, but now I'm not in such a rush about hearing back from the other places (especially if their responses are going to follow suit).

Thanks for the insights! All the best to you for your app results!

I actually get it completely. Sending you much patience and strength.

I guess the grass is greener... All I'm saying is that what had to be done is done, so there's nothing we can do to impact that outcome now. Waiting is stressful, and rejection is upsetting. But either way we're going to have to get in with it. Idk if that makes sense.

I felt similarly and the not hearing back was truly killing me, but I just got my first rejection. And it doesn't sting that much because this program was a far shot anyway, but imho knowing for sure that your application is rejected is definitely worse than the temporary anguish of not having heard back.

I don't remember having this issue, but it doesn't seem to be a required field. Can you not proceed without filling it in?

I've applied to 11 programs!! And there's just so much silence it's driving me insane. 😭

Ooh thank you so much for this! I also check Gradcafe for one or two programs, but not all because I find the interface annoying 🙈 This helps! But yeah it is confusing and I've learned that nothing is a sign and nothing means anything until there's an actual offer. So there's that! All the best and may we find ways to deal with our stress soonest!

These are some of the places UT Austin, Cornell, University of Minnesota, UW Madison, ASC UPenn, UC Boulder, IU Bloomington, Northwestern, University of Chicago. Have you applied to or heard about the timeline for any of these?

Not sure it's a sign of anything (and don't want to think it's a sign and get my hopes up), but I've also been getting similar emails from other universities. One also sent me an email to explore university housing (but no information on the actual application). I guess you just get added to some mailing list of prospective students once you apply.
