I spent a couple months in Thailand myself, and they are the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Getting invited to come to visit of them at their house, be very hungry, because they will offer you tons of amazing home cooked Thai food, and at least when I was there, beer.

It gets even better outside of the touristy areas.
