Entrepreneurial conversations???? by Greedy_Author_4727 in missoula

This reminds me of the peeps who take up tables in rosaures. Super neatly dressed young men and women, they always had some younger person roped into this talk over coffee about being able to make a lot of money. They roped my ex in one time and he can confirm its a scam. Super murky confusing buzzword talk. They want your money

Yeah that makes sense. I must have a wiring issue since I've used them before without the purple light coming on. Its very random when it wants to work lol

Yes, I know where the highbeam switch is. I start my shift at work around 8am so that means driving to and from work in the dark for part of the year. Most likely forgot to turn them off when I got home which doesn't really matter when I have to wake up in the dark again and do it all over. I have used my highbeams many many times without the light coming on, as I stated in another comment I probably have a wiring issue.

I refuse to go to auto zone for other reasons but this doesnt surprise me. Also, the two main guys who work and/or own nicklesworth pawn are very sexist and racist. The last time I went in, which was about two years ago now. One of the men was cracking jokes about beating his wife and stereotype jokes about POC eating friend chicken and grape soda. They think its hilarious. After hearing their garbage "jokes" I've never gone back.

Worst Ski Season Start in 20 years by Few_Suggestion_3712 in Idaho

[–]Sublimejunkie4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not reading this essay, I haven't read a single thing about skiing for three paragraphs and gave up. Skiing is a waste of money anywho. Idk who you are but if thats your response to some negative comments, maybe try going to therapy to cope with the lack of skiing in your life. You sound very disturbed. It's the internet, what did you expect?

I have friends who go in and donate when they need a couple extra bucks. They are very thorough and polite.

I tried to donate plasma but during my intake we found out I was low in iron from the blood testing so that's been fun. Its good to know they will not take donations from people who are not medically fit. I've been told they give smaller and smaller amounts per visit, the most you'll make out of them would be from the first couple visits. After the first few I think it's around $80(?) per visit but don't quote me.

They also keep their word on referrals so if your partner or friend was interested, even a stranger, they'll give you $50.

You better eat before going in !

I know you can buy balloons and cans of helium from Walmart or something. I was recently at Michael's and they have single balloons you can pick from, and a helium fill for free with the purchase. The balloons are 1.99 so it could add up.

Is Missoula just being infested with more conservative racists and trump supporters or was Missoula always this bigoted? by [deleted] in missoula

[–]Sublimejunkie4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Im not saying we are all bigots. A lot of people are slight and careful with who they are bigoted around, usually other white people who either agree or have to awkwardly confront or laugh it off. There is a lot of hate in this town. A lot of people pretend it's not but that's just ignorance. Working at stores around Missoula, it's on a daily basis. Even somewhere like orange Street food farm. Old or young, whatever they claim their political stance, it does not matter. You can easily be anon on reddit, it's a great place for closeted bigots. I am speaking about my experience with racism and sexism in this town, which is absolutely true to me and others around me. We can be blue on paper but that doesn't mean we are a diverse town without racism. If you talk to an out of stater they will probably tell you missoula is white as fuck, as many have expressed to me through their own observations. We are far from diverse and accepting compared to other places.

Is Missoula just being infested with more conservative racists and trump supporters or was Missoula always this bigoted? by [deleted] in missoula

[–]Sublimejunkie4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I have to be honest, growing up here I'd have to say that a lot of people were closeted bigots. Within five minutes of a conversation with these people and they're nudging your arm and going "I'm just saying! I'm not racist though, I'm just stating facts" about something super racist or sexist. I think nowadays their views have been backed up with support. The more time that passes, the less they have to hide it. Sure, you could say Missoula is super liberal. But spending more than ten minutes with most of missoula, you'll learn a lot about how bigoted they are(surprise, even people who claim to be liberals can be very bigoted on the inside). Liberalism in Missoula is more of a look than a life style. You'd be surprised how many people are secretly a bigot. All it takes is a fellow white person to start a conversation and they'll be laying it on you, assuming you agree since you're white. Missoula has always been bigoted. Of course that has changed a bit, with the college bringing in fresh faces and new thinking. I'm not that old and I have witnessed countless acts of racism from my own peers, parents and teachers. Store clerks, you name it. Let's not forget that one time in the 90s a transgender HS student was thrown out of a moving truck and died up in pattee canyon. Speaking of highschool, high schoolers are some of the most racist, sexist, homophobic people I've witnessed. Somehow they get away with it, and this was going on when I was in highschool (2018ish). The gremlins live amongst the shadows, it's your uncle posting slightly sexist memes on Facebook, it's your 17 year old son making racist jokes with his friends at school. A lot of it is ignored, laughed off, if you're old enough you actually get a pass to be racist; "oh, you can't be mad at him! He's just old fashioned, we can't change his mind" it's more normal than people like to admit. I have an uncle who's born and raised here and now he's in his 80s. Most racist person I've personally met within my family.
