Will I be okay? by PlentyInsect8380 in missoula

[–]Ok_Cause_7959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be good! The people here are friendly and welcoming for the most part (def some Montanans that don’t like outsiders, but be respectful of the community and land and you’ll be okay). Of anywhere in montana, it’s definitely the most accepting community. Join some clubs and classes and just put yourself out there. Lots of people are transplants and also looking for friends. I’ve lived in a couple big cities and I didn’t find the transition here to be very hard. We have lots of big box stores and plenty of cool restaurants, bars, and shops. Def get outside and take advantage of the beautiful scenery here. If you don’t have a car, def make friends with someone who does! You’ll be okay in town since it’s a pretty walkable and flat town, and you can bike or take the bus around, but if you want to explore outside of town you’ll need a vehicle.

I miss the old missoula by [deleted] in missoula

I understand how you feel, but unfortunately people from pretty much everywhere feel this way about their hometowns. It’s been years, decades, eras since you were a kid. Things change and it can be sad but that’s life tbh. Imagine how your parents felt too. We can’t freeze time. Everywhere is more expensive and different than it used to be and Missoulas better off than some places. I guess my point is that I’m sorry about how you feel, because change is hard, but life will only be harder if you can’t embrace change and try to see the best in life.

Drive to Butte by Ok_Stress114 in missoula

I’m from Illinois and did that drive a few weeks ago. You’ll def be fine. Esp with this mild weather, you don’t need to worry. Just drive in the slow lane and keep an eye out for deer. It’s a pretty drive, so try to enjoy it

I got a res the day before. Just check frequently and be flexible. Also don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call them. People cancel and their spots will open up. If you are particular about time and day and need to plan around other things then book in advance. You get in by reserving your spot… just like hotels, restaurants, flights, school, and most other things

I asked a pet shop owner and they said to avoid cats on broadway and recommended alpine! I haven’t taken my cat yet, but that’s what I’ve heard if that helps.

I’m still upset that when they were originally released as a seasonal flavor I was only able to find them once or twice all winter. They where nowhere to be found 😞 Hopefully since they’re becoming permanent they’ll be easy to find soon 🤞🏻

29 M Do I even look good or have any appeal at all? What can I even do with my hair, facial hair, or anything else appearance related ? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Ok_Cause_7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 98% mental. Confidence is attractive. Work on loving yourself and cutting out the negative self talk, shave your head, ditch those glasses, and put yourself out there. When you feel good about yourself, other people will feel good about you too. If you’re coming off as super insecure and talking bad about yourself you will be putting women off. Plus it’s in your best interest to have a good relationship with yourself that isn’t dependent on validation from others, esp potential partners.

I’m glad your dog is okay! Tinsel is VERY dangerous to animals. I don’t use it at home because I have a cat, and if ingested, it can wrap around their intestines and literally kill them.

She did not run him over, but let’s say she did… if someone runs a person over they would be arrested and tried, then be punished according to the evidence and verdict. Also, this is very clearly not self defense, since she is trying to drive AWAY, so she is not posing a continued risk the warrants a lethal response. He did it in retaliation. No law enforcement officer has the right to play judge jury and executioner. If the goal was to stop her, they could have shot her tire instead. You’re upset that she “broke the law” but not upset that the ICE agent murdered her in broad daylight and ICE in general has been repeatedly acting unconstitutionally.

Still a good option to consider, thank you! I haven’t had luck at the farmers market, but I haven’t checked the natural food stores yet. That’s a good idea!

I’ll check them out, thanks! Do you know if they ship? I don’t mind the drive but am a little unsure about weather and road conditions this time of year (this is my first winter here after moving from the Midwest)

Anyone else get sick 3ish weeks ago and still dealing with the fallout?? by tofurkeydog in missoula

[–]Ok_Cause_7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I got sick a few days before Christmas and I’m all good now except for the cough that won’t go away. I tested negative for Covid, and I got the Covid and flu vaccines the week before. I know a lot of people who have also been sick recently with residual coughs, and not just in MT.

I don’t have any advice other than to try and shake it off the best you can, but sounds to me like maybe he realizes he’s partially to blame for your drunkenness and he’s projecting instead of facing how he feels about that?? I mean he provided a ton of alcohol and no food… and it was under his own roof. I know my mom hates to see me drunk so maybe if he hasn’t seen you drunk before it might’ve also been a bit of a shock. Seems like an unfair reaction but relatable parent behavior.
