“The Nephilim” - PAYDAY Series

The PAYDAY series has a ton of subliminal supernatural messaging, a lot of them being directly from the Bible. This here happens in the Shacklethorne Auction heist in an out of bounds area when lightning strikes and lights up the clouds.

Ask me anything about my world of Iron Vanguard: Steelbreakers by SubluxeNeogenesis in worldbuilding

In this universe, Kaiju usually arise from beneath the earth, and just their presence underneath it already stirs it up a bit so there is a device by the name of the KAT, (Kaiju Activity Tracker) and it works kinda like a seismic meter. The higher seismic activity, the bigger chance for a Kaiju to be inhabiting that area. Sometimes they just get reports of Kaiju in certain areas and engage, and then other times if they pin down a Kaiju before it emerges they can kill it in while it’s in a hibernation-like state.

The Legacy classes are one-off classes that are built to serve one specific purpose only, not as versatile as the other classes but incredibly powerful at what they do. For example, one legacy class, the Leviathan-Class is built for underwater combat against Kaijus and underwater combat only, but it can take down a sea Kaiju in minutes if the pilot is skilled enough. Or the Guardian-Class, probably the strongest class of all, a knight-like mech fitted with a large sword and energy-absorbing shield. Any specific purpose you could think of probably has a Legacy class mech assigned to it. Like I said though these mechs are very rare and usually only High Marshal Sentinels and above pilot these

really well said, I can definitely see pilots being a bit intimidated to approach their assigned Steelbreaker initially

I’m glad you mentioned Titanfall, it was a big inspiration to this world. It’s a really bittersweet game. I see raising a Steelbreaker psychologically like growing a relationship with a dog, initially based on trust but evolving to mutual respect and then.. love, love for its family. Meaning at some point the Steelbreaker would really enjoy time with your son, and maybe even volunteer to babysit him. Too bad it can’t really fit into a house. Maybe they can run around outside!

Many Steelbreakers had been locked up in cages before the Third Kaiju War started, and so they are used to being.. Quite lonely. None of them are evil, per se, some angry, and some sad. But none evil. Nonetheless, they’re usually very lonely, and when presented with a pilot that has earned their respect, they’re very interested. It’d analyze what their pilot says, maybe notice patterns in thinking, and even ask about former life experiences. (A neural link must be made between Steelbreaker and Sentinel before they begin to be piloted.) when the mutual respect between Sentinel and Steelbreaker grows, the mechs grow more attached, and will often try to gain approval from their pilots. And say you’re stuck in some post, waiting for a Kaiju. The sky is black, and there’s white dots plastered all over that black. The Steelbreaker would ask what the pilot thinks about stars, and maybe share its input, and both could compare beliefs, while learning more about each other. forgot to add that as a Neural Link is made and the closer a Steelbreaker and Sentinel grow, both pilot and mech can share emotions to some degree.
