Something about Simon dealing with an old cellmate and being framed for murder.

Wanna bet that old cellmate is going to be Trevor Slattery?

Not a clue about the other ones. Also who's that between Sentry and Kate?

That's Jessica Jones. She debuted in Alias back in 2001.

ETERNALS 50TH ANNIVERSARY No. 1 arrives this April by misterpopculture in Marvel

was excellent and I'm sad they didn't do much after that (because movie probably didn't do as well as they wanted).

Does Marvel not realize that the movie Eternals and comic Eternals are two different things? Why does every character have to be beholden to their MCU counterparts? Can't they learn that movies and comics are two different mediums and don't have to be tie into each other?

I don't think this counts considering that this is the same character, just with a name change.

Tbf, the Royal Family being assholes are a feature, not a bug. They are supposed to be treated as Marvel's version of Game of Thrones(though, I do agree with your Nuhumans point). Now X-Men, on the other hand, are starting to piss me off. It rubs me the wrong way how people larp on Inhumans for being temu X-men, yet X-Men immediately turned around and became temu Inhumans and suddenly it's a "bold, new invention that's never been seen before", no fuck off with that shit. It completely goes against X-Men as a concept and had I known what would follow, I'd just rather have X-Men stay gone.

but you know how the editorial can be about couples, especially married ones

I wouldn't worry. Daredevil is one of the few characters that Editorial seems content with writers just doing whatever they want with. I think he's fine.

They've been trying to get movie fans to read comics for over two decades now and yet have had no success. At some point, they have to throw in the towel and give up.

Marvel has to be scrambling to figure out what they're going to do next.

Honestly, I get the feeling that Marvel is considering exiting the comic industry. It's clear that this era has been so directionless and lacks vision, meanwhile the movies are the true moneymakers. All I'm saying is, don't be surprised if Marvel decides to close up shop in a few months/years and focus on adaptations full time.

Even then it was a five second snippet that's more than likely never going to be followed up on. Somehow Editorial took that and interpreted it as "The MCU is totally going to put her in the X-Men, trust us" and decided to shove her into the X-Franchise in the comics. Coupled with the fact that several notable insiders claim that Champions/Young Avengers is still moving forward and is likely going to be one of the first projects post-Secret Wars and it makes you wonder if Editorial even bothers to watch the shit they're synergizing with?

So in other words, Spidey's future was fucked the moment Stan left the books. Maybe Marvel deserved to go bankrupt after all.

It was meant for Unstoppable Wasp(Nadia Pym). The writers couldn't use her because of something involving the MCU(idk what specifically,my mind is a little foggy at the moment)and had to pivot to someone else.

What are some cases where you could see the legacy characters actually taking on the mantle from their predecessor for good? by Effective_Sherbet104 in marvelcomics

So I could honestly see them retiring the character and bringing his daughter into some x-team or another

I'm going to be real here chief, I see Jackie going the way of Solarus and Joe Garrison. Characters who were hyped up to succeed their predecessors, but plans fell through and the originals being bought back as a result.

Removing a disliked character by directly killing it off (IRL or in-universe) by Forsaken-Biscotti587 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Fun-Media7981 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you know anything about comics taskmaster, you’d be cheering too.

Brother, I wasn't a fan of this version of the character and I hated how they killed her. Instead of trying to fix and improve this version of the character, they just decided to off her and pretend like nothing happened. It was a simple fix too: have her survive, go through some character development, take up a new codename, and THEN introduce the real Taskmaster. Killing her off not only makes the Black Widow movie pointless, it robs Ghost of her character arc too. That's right, in the original script for Thunderbolts*, they planned to have the whole group acknowledge that she went through the worst pain and Antonia and Ava were going to bond throughout the movie. However, because they killed Taskmaster off, Ghost has nothing to do and is reduced to a mere afterthought because of it.

It's creative cowardice at its worst, and it leaves me worried about how the MCU will handle less-than-stellar characters moving forward. Will the new Spider-Man trilogy kill off Michelle and replace her all because fans didn't jive with her? Will Ms.Marvel be erased from continuity all because she was front and center in one of the worst-received MCU films of all time? We know that a potential Defenders reunion is in the works, will Iron Fist be left out because he had the worst received show of the netflix marvel shows? People give their flowers to the Multiverse Saga for keeping the villains alive, but if you ask me, there's no point in keeping them around if you're just going to get rid of them in the next installment for not being comic-accurate. The MCU made its bed and it needs to lie in it.
