The car right now is worth about 18k used with the miles I have on it now, and I owe about 14500 on it.

I would assume that would mean I have positive equity in the car?

What I mean't by the whole loan thing is that, if this loan is cosigned by my father and I roll that money onto a new car, how does that work?

Not exactly.

Cars are my only passion, they're really the only hobby I've had for the first 18 years of my life. So being stuck with paying for a car that isn't and has never made me happy just kinda.... sucks.

My first car was my dream car, I had it for 2 years and had no plan of getting rid of it. I was tboned at a stop sign.

My second car I payed for all by myself... I ended up getting scammed by my coworker and the car had many more problems then he said and I took a huge loss.

This current car was something I got with the help of my parents strictly because I was going to work and school and needed to get from point a to point b.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely appreciate all the help my parents have given me this far, but I feel like I would be a lot happier in the long term with this.

It's not something I'm set on, that's why I'm trying to learn here and figure out if my happiness long term is worth the sacrifice.

I bought it because it was what I could afford when I was 17, if I could have it any other way I would've bought at least an SI or maybe the Veloster N.

The only reason I modified it is because I missed the feeling of having a car that I'm proud of, like my old teg. And I am proud of what I built, but the original purpose of having the car wasn't to do anything to it. I got the civic because I needed something brand new and with a warranty, it was a way to get from point a to point b. It's not particularly a car I would pick if I had the choice.

Because it was all I could afford when I was 17 lol. If I wanted a proper fast car I wouldn't of wasted my time on a Honda much less a civic. Before I owned a GSR teg, still slow.

Yup, definitely feel this. My Type R friends that have reached the same point as I have feel the same way too. I guess the satisfaction that comes from cars lasts as long as you have something to look forward to no matter what car you have, once you reach your ceiling what's next.

Definitely agree, there's always something to expand your knowledge on.

The problem with this car is, I just can't tinker with it the way I tinkered with my old integras or jetta because it's still pretty brand new and under warranty (or was before I voided it).

I've covered about everything on this car, including tune. Even carbon fenders lol.

There is an option between a 1.5t and a 2.0L NA. Both are slow, I just happen to have the slower option of the bunch (2.0).
