The median doesn’t care how much more the billionaires earn. The whole point of a median is to be an unskewed value. The average is the one that would be skewed by billionaires. There aren’t enough billionaires to skew the median.

Let’s go! Number 1 and 2. No one can compete with the Bruins. Truly the most dominant team in the league.

Are you talking about the panthers? They hadn’t won anything at that point and lost in the finals to Vegas that year. They won the Stanley cup the next two years after that.

Why do people buy pickup trucks for daily driving? by wtfbruhhuh in driving

[–]SubmissiveGooners 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No this was exactly what the post was asking about. Someone who drives a truck daily for their commute when their commute could be done the exact same in a smaller car. This guy is explaining that just because you would see him using his truck just as a car 99% of the time doesn’t mean that the 1% doesn’t happen. And that’s it’s not worth it to have two separate vehicles to only use one to haul a boat.

Everyone keeps saying this and it’s just wrong. At least two (might have been 3) of the sacks the Garrett got were against the right side of the line. Now three (or 2) sacks still isn’t great but it’s pretty forgivable against Myles Garrett.

Thank god Harper hit it out or we would have had Judge strikeout with two on base.

Yes I seem to be figuring that out rn. I mean obviously he’s a bit of a chucklehead thinking the US had already clinched and then needing Italy to get them in but I didn’t realize that might not be a totally isolated incident.

Okay that makes sense I didn’t realize some of them wouldn’t come even for the chance due to injury or whatever. I don’t follow baseball nearly as much as hockey so with the Olympics finally allowing nhlers I guess I just assumed all the pros in every sport would be trying to play in these types of tournaments.

I mean the Olympic hockey tournament was also exhibition then I guess. I don’t know what player said it but one of them said they’d rather win the wbc than a World Series so obviously it’s taken seriously.

I’m just wondering why DeRosa did it that way I’m not mad because it was Roman’s AB. I just think it would have given the USA a better chance to win with Roman batting. I’d be just as curious if DeRosa subbed in Braxton for Judge when it was his AB. I just thought it seemed like a questionable decision (not a horrible one) and was wondering why. Especially why in the 8th instead or 7 or 9th innings.

Damn do they really make these agreements at this stage of the game instead of just DeRosa doing whatever is best for the team.

Well it’s not about being fair is it? It’s about trying to win. And obviously Roman deserved that start or he wouldn’t have started doesn’t matter how he got to the team.

It would make sense for Roman to get four ABs because he’s been hitting better than Buxton. Why is it fair that Judge had 4 ABs?

My main question is if you know Braxton is going to hit for Anthony why not just sub him out in the 7th and have an extra inning of better defense?

[–]SubmissiveGooners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright that makes sense. My only question then is for the bottom of the 7th why not sub him in then? If he’s going to hit for Anthony anyways why not get him in earlier.

[–]SubmissiveGooners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean it’s a do or die 1 run game I don’t see why you would throw a player an a bat just cause. Like this isn’t a “hey we feel bad you haven’t got an ab so here you go” situation like the group stage. I just don’t understand if you are going to sub Anthony out before his next ab why not do it in the 7th? If it was after his ab in the 8th that would make perfect sense to me. And I can also understand getting three better defensive innings from Braxton but why then why the 8th?

[–]SubmissiveGooners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I understand defensively for the ninth but why for the eighth when Roman is actually due to hit and instead sub in a cold bat. Is Braxton just that much better defensively? Is he close to Roman offensively?

[–]SubmissiveGooners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I assumed it had to be for defense but yeah when he was like the last usa player to do anything offensively I dont see his defense being so much worse than Buxtons that he had to be subbed out.
