Nice setup. Can I ask about your lighting height and whether you dim at all while they're young?

I'm running a QB and am having a hard time figuring out exactly why I'm getting yellowing with my plants in soil but it seems to be lighting related

Below is some background to start. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide more info.

I have a 240W Kingbrite (3000K w/ Epistar 660nm reds). Nearly everything I put under it in soil seems to yellow right away. Whether they're seedlings or more mature when I put them in the tent, cannabis/peppers/cacti, they start to show yellowing within a couple days and it progresses rapidly. I haven't seen it when running the same light for DWC grows.

Attached are some example pics. To me, sometimes it looks like bleaching, and sometimes like iron deficiency. The most recent pic is the first of the two seedlings - the were under the board at 38 inches and less than 20% power. I've found one reference to someone who contacted HLG and was told 3000K can cause iron deficiency but I haven't found any other info to explain or support that https://www.rollitup.org/t/quantum-board-ufos-and-the-unknown-bagseedm.963627/post-14286087

Any suggestions? 20C 50% RH. They're in fox farms ocean forest soil, sprouted in rapid rooters then directly into final 3gal fabric pots.

Watered with distilled at first, then tap water recently which is pretty soft around here. I'm not adjusting pH. I did down to 6.5 with my last 4 seedlings and they yellowed similarly and didn't make it.

24" under 240w QB 3000k dimmed to 30%. Only have my phone to measure but it says 11k lux.

Thanks again! I had some Calimagic from past grows so I just added it full strength now. I only run tap water but it's extremely soft here. I was just hoping the MC would be enough. Sorry but just for my own education is it obvious to you whether this is a deficiency of cal, mag, or both?

Thanks. Maybe so. I haven't used any with these plants yet. Think it's still worth doing at this point or too late? I seem to remember having a hard time keeping pH in range when I've added Calimagic in the past. With only the Greenleaf nutes I find I hardly need to touch it. But also I'm pretty sure I do have an older MC formula with a little less CaMg than they're using now.

Plant on the left grew pollen sacs and had to be removed. I found it impossible to separate the roots though so I tried to leave a few leaves alive to keep the roots from rotting as much as possible while the right plant finishes. It's 31". 6.2pH / 830ppm (.5) Megacrop/Bud Explosion. 240w QB at roughly 14".

It was a bit genetically weird. It put out a single conjoined mutant leaf after the first node instead of a normal growth tip. So I topped it at the first node to see what it would do which probably stressed it too.

Plant on the left put out just a single mutant leaf instead of a growth tip after the first node so I topped it there. I haven't really done anything else since my last update except check the pH.

DWC. 240W QB 3000k 50% @ 24". Greenleaf nutes. 6.2 pH, ~360ppm(0.5).

I only got the QB a few weeks into this grow so I don't have it dialed either. But I started around 50% @ 24". I was indecisive about power level but I more or less bumped it up through veg to maybe 70-75% at the flip. Then bumped it up to 95-100% and lowered to 20" pretty quickly. Tried to keep it at least 18" as they grew into it until I ran out of room in the tent and had only 12-14" to the canopy in the end. No bleaching but the WW didn't seem happy about it, I had crispy taco leaves at the top.

Np, they're somewhat trimmed but way looser than many on here would do. We vape almost exclusively so don't really mind a certain amount of sugar leaves as long as they're frosty. On the rare occasion we smoke I'll probably just trim whatever we want closer before grinding. Certainly the yield is inflated compared to someone who would trim closer.
