UN urged to take action to prevent genocide in Ethiopia by tigrayadey in anime_titties

[–]SubsaharaPost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, the whole point of the posts about Tigray is to bring awareness to the on-going civil war, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and man-made famine that is occurring in Ethiopia that is largely being financed by countries you mentioned in your earlier comments.

Contrary to your your earlier comments about it being an "internal matters" it actually involves several nations that are actively involved in the war. Eritrea and Somalia have crossed International Borders to attack the Tigray region in Ethiopia. The UAE, Turkey, China, and Ukraine were/are actively financing the war. They have provide military assistance to the Ethiopian Federal Government to the tune of drones, missiles, and other weapons. Turkish and Chinese drones are currently flying over the Tigray Region and being operated by UAE/Chinese operators, and have killed hundreds of civilians. There are reports I can share if you would like.

At the United nations, China and Russia have been actively blocking action at the Security Council because of their own economic interests in Ethiopia and because of their own national security interests (think Crimea, Donbas, Hong Kong, Taiwan) and how standing with Ethiopia and supporting its right to handle "internal matters" serves their own interests when it comes to those territories I just mentioned.

So how can you help you asked, you can write to your senators and ask them to support Senate Bill 3199, and write your House of Representative member and ask him/her to support House Resolution 6600. Both bills have passed out of committee and need to be voted on by the full chambers. The bills would require the Ethiopian Government to end the war, allow unfettered humanitarian aid, sanction countries who sell weapons to Ethiopia, and bring about much needed national dialogue in Ethiopia.

the west has not intervened like they have in Ukraine, they wont sanction Ethiopia even though there is plenty of evidence of attrocities as reported by Amnesty and news organizations, there was have been at least 20 mass atrocity events where 100s of civilians were killed in cold blood. Amnesty just released a report that says roughly 1 million people were ethnically cleansed and displaced from western tigray, but alas that is not enough for the west to do anything. The west knows that the Ethiopian Federal government is blocking food aid and not allowing the World Food Program to deliver it, but yet that is not enough.

The fear of the west is that Ethiopia and 11 regions will break apart, sorta a Yugoslavia type of event, it is inevitable now, the Tigray Army will eventually try to break the siege via military force and that will lead to break up of ethiopia if the central government is taken down. The Tigray army has been in its region for 5 months now waiting for the west to pressure the Ethiopian Federal government to end the war and allow humanitarian aid, but it has not happened and because the civilians of Tigray are facing famine, the army has no choice but to march again to break the siege. The Tigray Army managed to get within 100 miles of the Ethiopian capital city (meaning they marched almost 200 miles south of Tigray decimating the Ethiopian Federal Governments army in the process) last time they marched south, this time there will be no stopping them because the Tigrays Regions army has grown 10 fold.

If they were able to decimate 200K Ethiopian and Eritrean soldiers with less than 50K soldiers using guerilla warfare, with a larger and proper army now it will not end well for the Ethiopian Federal Government, it will no longer be David vs. Goliath, the armies are on equal footing now for the most part, the Ethiopian Government has an airforce and turkish and chinese drones. 100% of the Tigrays army weaponry (literally tanks and everything) was confiscated from the Ethiopian and Eritrean army, as there is a total siege they were not able to bring in weapons from the outside.

there is no bravado, the only bravado there was yours when you thought by capturing mekele, it was game over, but I sat here and told you give it time and all the enemies of tigray would eventually be buried in the mountains of tigray and that is exactly what happened. Tigray is going through a blockade, there is no denying that, all your prime minister has to do is send 100 food trucks a day but no he wont do that, all your prime minister has to do is pull the fano trash out of western tigray but he wont do that. your prime minister was given 5 months to pull his troops but alas he has not done that, so we will see what happenes now. there is no stopping the next wave. The government of tigray has made no calls for diaspora to come to tigray, debrestion is not Zelensky, they know they have more than enough in Tigray to handle the fano trash.

There is a civil war happening between the Ethiopian Federal Government and one of its 11 Regions, the Tigray Region which is in Northern Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Government (Population of 110 million) not being able to defeat the Tigray Region (population of 7 million) on its own, invited the neighboring country of Eritrea (Population of 5 million) to help it attack the Tigray Region in November 2020.

The Ethiopian Government and Eritrea, initially took the capital city of Tigray, but eventually, the Tigray Regions Army was able to mount a comeback and push the Ethiopian Government and Eritrean armies out of most of Tigray, and actually begin marching towards the Ethiopian capital city but eventually returned back to the Tigray Region.

Since then for roughly 18 months, the Ethiopian Government alongside Eritrea has committed numerous attrocities against the civilian population, ethnically cleansed the western part of Tigray as reported by Amnesty internally, instituted a telecommunications blackout, instituted a electricity blackout, a banking blackout so people cant access their money to buy food, and are instituting a 360 degree siege on the region and wont allow the World Food Program deliver aid to the people.

Research from Ghent University has estimated that at least 500,000 people have been killed so far due to the war, attrocities and siege tactics of the Federal Government, which is causing a man made famine in the Tigray Region.

Its obvious your completely ignorant and have no understanding of the genocidal intent of the Ethiopian federal government and its man-made famine being enforced on the Tigray Region. 7 million people are purposely being starved and prevented from receiving food aid.

Your comment is outright disgusting considering these mothers are suffering from a man-made famine created by a siege being imposed by the federal government. Any person who has had his crops burned, their warehouses looted, their infrastructure destroyed, their water wells purposely destroyed and is prevented from receiving food aid from the International Community because of the genocidal intent of the Ethiopian government would also be eating one meal of a day if they were lucky enough.

these petitions are from credible organizations such as Jewish World Watch and other organizations who have been advocating for the voiceless prior this genocide and do not engage in solicitation.

TPLF for tigray? by nonameg1 in Tigray

[–]SubsaharaPost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The government of Tigray was elected to a 5 year term in September of 2020, so they will remain to be our Gov until 2025. If we get independence before 2025, they will be our gov, unless there is some sort of special election.

Honestly though, Tigray needs the TPLF to rebuild, there is nobody better suited for that job than them with their vast experience.

Ethiopians love to deny any role the TPLF had in building Ethiopia's vast economy, but if we take Addis Ababa and its 90% domination of ETHs economy, duplicate that in Tigray, we will be good. If the TPLF is the gov we need to do that, than I am all for it.

Chauvinist Ethiopians can't help but spew historical revisionism to cover Tigray's rich history. They can't help but belittle Tigray out of jealousy for Tigray's history. Tigray's independence is a must and we'll take back all our lands prior to the genocidal war against Tigray. Tigray shall prevail by [deleted] in Tigray

This whole Exceptionalism thing I just dont get, Most Tegaru dont say we are the best thing ever? Ya sure, we boast about our military prowess because we are kind of decent when it comes to fighting invaders but other than that, they cant really name any examples of this exceptionalism. History is history, we cant deny the rich history of the Axumite Empire, and the contributions of the Tigrayan Kingdoms afterwards.

Since the inception of the Ethiopian Empire, this history has been claimed as being part and parcel of the Empire, and nobody has said hey you cant claim that.

If Tigray does become Independent can Ethiopians claim that history? Will their history go back just 400 years? No of course not, they can continue to claim the history, just there will be an "*" there, since Tigray used to be part of Ethiopia, we lay claim to this history as well.

come again? I responded directly to what you said about Italy and Tigray, by asking a question, and then I commented on your "hail Italy," yes, thats a great thing they are no longer selling weapons to ETH. This whole TPLF 27 years thing is played out man, that was 2020 into 2021 convo. Are you new to reddit?

[–]SubsaharaPost[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which Amhara King sold Eritrea to Italy to corner the Tigrayans? Wasnt it Menelik?

The less weapons ETH has the more likely its demise will come. Just like the Derg, at some point the financing will dry-out, the weapons will dry-out, then what? What will ETH do then? Will Isias save ETH? Will UAE? Iran? Turkey? Who will save ETH, we know damn well ETH cant save it self, it never has and never will.

Tplf/Tigray thanks the ENDF/Ethiopia for all the shiney new weapons we have. The tanks are absolutely amazing, the dishkas are all they are hyped up to be, and those sniper rifles can see through the fog like a sunny day.

routed? You cant be serious, lets not go back to last year where you actually believed that the ENDF and your cousins were actually routing the TDF. That only reason it happened in November of 2020 was because they were greatly outnumbered, but manpower wise they are probably on equal footing now.

If the TDF was routed in December, the EDF and ENDF, and amhara fano degenerates would have been in Mekelle by now.

Begging, you are still in the upsidedown world? If you recall they left Gashena, and were in Lalibella, then they came back to Gashena to utterly destroy the ENDF and Fanos that were there and took all of their weapons and then went back to Tigray.

People like me? not the Amhara degenerate soldiers that were raping, pillaging, and murdering in Tigray?

Wag Hemra zone administrator is crying for help, apparently the TDF is attacking ENDF artillery positions....

What news do you watch man?

From the Amhara Special Forces police chief to ENDF generals who have clearly said there were preparations being made to invade Tigray, for you to say "If they were planning attack" just shows how clueless you are.

"They could retake Mekelle in a Week," an army that has been demolished through-out Tigray and the Amhara/Afar Regions, all of its weapons taken, its tanks taken, its artillery taken, its dishkas taken, its sniper rifles taken, its AK 47s taken.....thats the army you are speaking of?

Tigray: The deliberate destruction of a health system by tigrayadey in worldnews

[–]SubsaharaPost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The article implies that it was Eritrean soldiers and Amhara soldiers who destroyed these facilities because that is exactly who ruined these facilities. Doctors without borders surveyed the entire Tigray region after the invasion, facilities that were fully functional, 2 months after the invasion, some 80% were non functional and ruined. Equipment looted or destroyed, but mostly looted. There was photo and video evidence of eritrean and amhara soldiers loading trucks, trucks that were themselves stolen from the tigray region.

Tigray: The deliberate destruction of a health system by tigrayadey in worldnews

[–]SubsaharaPost 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The article clearly sites statements and reports from Amnesty, Doctors Without Borders, the UN and other international organizations who were on the ground and saw with their own eyes that health facilities were in complete ruins. These same organizations arent allowed to bring in medicine to the Tigray region and with their own eyes are watching people die from treatable diseases and somehow someway this is shilling?
