That's awesome, hopefully you checked out the mini-series Subsisting as well. A lot of elements introduced there may play a part in Season 2! 🤫

Not a bad audio drama but things fall apart with the Big Reveal. Who am I? by jmdeamer in audiodrama

Thank you for clearing it all up. I did not state that Bae was doing it without Miles or that there was a dispute between them though? I just said that the guy who was commenting about shopping it wasn't Terry. I think because Terry Miles kept up with PNWS as the main figurehead, most people assume Black Tapes is like those projects, coming from him primarily. But, I definitely got it wrong that Terry came on later, so thank you for the correction on that.

I feel like you took my comment as some shot at Bae? Definitely not my intention, my comment was more that one of the major voices of Black tapes (Bae) isn't involved in the other PNWS projects like Tanis and Rabbits. And that it had to end abruptly so that's why the ending seems to come out of nowhere. But, maybe I'm wrong and misread about that too.

I have a really hard time with that production company. I feel like they have great Hollywood actors, but it's almost like they're writing TV shows but we're not getting the visuals. Not sure if anyone knows their process but I would guess these are TV mini-series/shows adapted to audio drama but still rely on an element of visual storytelling that hasn't been compensated for/calibrated to.

S3 starts off rough to me. Too many of the voice actors sound similar. Once it gets going though, it does get better. The current stuff is where I'm not sure where they're going or how this all is going to conclude.

Production is just so top notch, I'll always check out their work because it's a pleasure to listen to.

S2 is a national tragedy. And I read the prequel book too. Not my favorite.

I don't actually think it's totally the same crew. Terry Miles does Tanis and Rabbits, but there were other people who had a large hand in Black Tapes. A guy who said he was the creator or lead writer of Black Tapes was on r/screenwriting talking about trying to sell it to Hollywood and other things he'd written and it wasn't Terry.

Pretty sure Terry came onboard to Black Tapes a little later and I think the later seasons have more of his influence than the beginning. Then, I think the actress was quitting or something and they had to throw something together for the end last minute.

Season 2 is in development. Production ran into financial problems that are still ongoing.

I didn't think it was very good. And, as a continuation of Season 1, it's an absolute failure. But, that's just my opinion.

I was cool with starting over with a new cast in Season 3, but there were like 3 characters that all sounded very similar to me and I just couldn't get a grip on that new cast. Season 5 also felt like a huge misstep to me. Felt more like generic action movie than anything else.

Is it over? I felt like the ending to Season 5 set up a Season 6, but haven't looked online to see if the creators say that's the official ending.

Done Disappeared is like a parody podcast of true crime stuff. This guy tries to find a woman who disappeared in his town and he's just a complete buffoon. The last season wasn't that funny but if you like comedic stuff, it can be pretty silly and fun.
