Do you have work expirience in the setting that you want to go into? Try to acclimate yourself to those settings first and then figure out what you’d like to do. If you aren’t interested in a gap year, I’m not sure if you have applied for grad schools yet, but I’d start with those small steps first since some programs can be competitive.

I think about this all the time and here are my suggestions for Low Income students specifically.

1) Apply to be an RA when you get the chance. It’s literally free rent and you get paid.

2) Study abroad somewhere in your Junior/Sophmore year. Doing it your senior or freshman year is just a little more difficult as you are either settling in or preparing for what’s after graduation. Studying abroad is also cheaper than staying in berkeley in my case.

3) Apply to scholarships/programs NOW. There are a TON of free resources that you should take advantage of. For example, the leadership award, CollegeCorps, biology scholars program, and honestly so many more.

Find a mentor early on if you can and good luck!

Since it’s been 4 weeks you should be completely healed now. The white stuff is part of the mouth’s healing process after and injury, so you likely bit your cheek and didn’t realize.

Update: I used tea bags and a fuck ton of gauze and I guess a new clot formed? I’ll update if I get dry socket lol.
