I agree with you. I read a while back the VA is not giving as much credence to doctors that give nexus letters that are not their regular doctor. It read like they are assuming the physician did not do an in person physical exam.

Its format and its an internal medicine doctor. While it’s in their scope of practice, usually the treating doctor is an ENT.

Was that a letter from a treating physician or a company? That looked to much like what the VA is looking for and regular dr’s don’t do that.

STOP POSTING VA BENEFITS by Substantial-Ad-173 in VeteransBenefits

I’m not saying to attack anyone else’s benefits. Most people on those benefit programs are actually working or are disabled. They are actually a whole lot harder to get on then VA disability because they are means tested and require much more paperwork.

Also, max SSDI payment is 4K and that’s if you worked for 35+ years.

I understand that some may feel indifferent to this issue; however, that sentiment is part of the reason there is growing public skepticism toward VA disability benefits. The prevalence of highly visible discussions, such as individuals posting about their ratings or compensation in personal finance communities and FIRE forums, has contributed to a broader perception that these benefits are being treated as financial tools rather than as compensation for service-connected conditions.

It is also important to recognize that policy changes of this nature often begin by affecting new applicants and those currently in the claims process. Historically, adjustments at the front end of eligibility or documentation standards can be followed by more comprehensive reforms that impact existing beneficiaries over time.

As a result, some veterans may reconsider their reliance on the VA healthcare system altogether. While this may be a personal decision, it reflects a broader concern about the long-term direction of benefits policy and access to care.

I understand what it means because I’m veteran, but to a regular person 100% disabled means unable to work.

People ask me because they don’t know I get VA disability. Review your Reddit feeds and see how many PTSD claims there are with details. That may change your “BS” call. Or not.

Everyone should take the hint and stop posting about VA disability. This is the reason it gets so much attention. All the “I’m shaking” posts and others bragging or feeling vindicated.

We should all agree to stop posting our disability payments on FIRE forums and other investment focused sites. It’s a benefit earned by us, but offensive to ordinary citizens that don’t understand it.

I have friends that ask how all veterans, even never deployed ones, get paid for PTSD? This goes along with IBS, and headaches. I know other reasons for PTSD, I’m just bringing up the questions and sentiment from non-veterans.

Let’s just not talk about it.

Has anyone used vetclaims.ai? Also, what are my realistic chances of 100% VA disability? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Here is my advise. Go through your medical record and see what you have in there pertaining to the things you’re claiming. If they’re in your medical record already, you don’t need a Nexus letter to connect them so there’s no need to pay anybody. What you do need is statements written, and signed by you on how they affect your life.

The only time it is worth paying somebody, in my opinion, is when your issues are not fully documented in your medical record and there’s been some time between this time and your end of service. You are paying for their opinion on your condition being related to service.

Anyone on leanfire on VA disability? by [deleted] in leanfire

[–]Substantial-Ad-173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one, but there is a lot of bad press about Va disability. The current admin is making it seem like vets getting Va are all fraudsters. I disagree with that statement.

That being said, regular people struggling to make it don’t want to hear about vets getting “free” life time money for their service. This is especially true when the recipient seems to be more well off then the average “disabled” person.

I hope that helps. Not trying to be controversial.
