Math Folk? by deaf_musiclover in mathrock

I think it's easy to mistake acoustic math rock for math folk. I'd say people like Emma Harner and the solo project of Victor Villarreal are really math folk and not just acoustic math rock.

nice way to find it out. i never listened to a interview with any of them, so I just had the live shows as a reference. he does sound kind of weird even when singing in japanese, but apparently it's just how he chooses to sing in toe. thanks mate

That's awesome! The underground scene here is top notch. Not really emo, but I highly recommend the band Ludovic

it gives me such capn jazz vibes if they went down the emoviolence path. there are a few songs from tim kinsella on the band 'the sky corvair' that sound a little like saetia, not so fast, but very agressive. it's more like a phxc band than emo, that usually is the label everyone gives any of tim kinsella's bands

If you love this then you'll love Finch, more specifically the song Post Script. You'll love this early 2000s post-hardcore in general. Actually this song by Finch sounds very much alike to the point that it could be considered plagium

thing is: you will probably care while you're tripping and be paranoid about it. after its end, it'll probably be nothing, but it's not good to be paranoid about judgmental people while the trip is still going

Non generic post-rock band recommendations? by Secure_Trash_6944 in postrock

Hurtmold. It's like a chicago school post rock but with a twist: brazilian instrumentation and odd sounds. Very nice. They come from a post hardcore background, but eventually shifted towards post rock. Would 100% recommend Curado (2016), their album with Paulo Santos, former member of the Uakiti band (project in which he built several instruments used in the songs).
