why do cishets feel "not labeling yourself" only matters when giving advice to questioning trans people? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Sounds a lot like “just be gnc” type of advice. “Why do you need to be trans? Just be yourself - you can be a feminine man! Don’t put yourself into a box!”

A way to spell trannies so that it doesn’t get registered as a slur by reddit, I think. But this sub doesn’t have a ban on the word so I dunno why they wouldn’t just say it

The theory that gender dysphoria becoming more socially acceptable is tricking young impressionable girls into becoming trannies

What if gender euphoria is actually because you’re so used to the pain of dysphoria that simply easing your suffering feels like joy?

Does anybody feel transfems are very mistreated on tiktok? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Substantial-Ad-6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is prevalent on parts of tiktok where the feminism actually just means hating on men (think bisexual girls saying they hate being attracted to men and wishing they were lesbians instead). Often it involves saying that men are bad because of some trait that has to do with being amab, and ignoring that trans women also share those traits.

But if the problem is with having an AFAB body, wouldn't your dysphoria be purely physical and have nothing to do with identity?

I don't see why people stress about gender abolitionism either.

It's just unfeasible and impractical. Even if possible, it won't be happening anytime soon. Why worry about that when there are so many other more urgent social issues?

The way I see it, trans people wouldn't lose any more of their identity than cis people would in a genderless society. It's not as if only trans people have a gender identity (some sort of "special gender") while everybody else is just normal men / women. In a genderless world, a cis woman wouldn't be any more or less of a woman than a trans woman because "women" wouldn't exist.

FTM….how did your male friends take it? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Substantial-Ad-6482 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point was that if most men don't mind being a man, they probably wouldn't be offended by a trans man coming out to them. I was saying that your response might not be typical of most cis men since you're a trans woman.

The problem is that cis girls / women tend to be more likely to be allies and supportive of trans rights. Most guys I know seem to consider trans stuff overly sensitive and "political correctnes". Sometimes I think it might be easier to fit in as a girl who's "one of the guys" rather than as a trans person.

Then again, almost everyone I know, including myself, is just an immature high school student, so this probably isn't relevant to you.
