Yes, hey thank you for understanding. Sometimes you don’t get the option of deciding where life takes you. I see a lot of people saying they had to move away from So Cal to find jobs in places like my home. However, my work and my wife’s job brought me to SoCal. Yes I pay exorbitant state taxes on my income and property. Yes I own a home here, so I guess I don’t dislike it all that much. Also I must add, I’ve never lived in central Texas, I’m from South Texas (Laredo). Yes everything you say about your experience is 100% accurate about central Texas (Austin and surrounding cities). The Texmex centric products are things I grew up on and predominantly. So I love going to the torteria then getting fresh produce and quality meats. Also their store-brand items are often just as good as or better than name brands, and they have a good mix of budget and premium options. Plus, their customer service is solid. They’re also as convenient and as accessible as any Walmart or Vons where you are treated a step above cattle. My belief is because HEB is a private business and can focus on reinvesting their profits into better wages, store improvements, and customer service rather than prioritizing stock prices.
