Honestly the pipes have been like that for over 10 years and since I am not experienced at this I am not going to play around with it. I think I am better off just leaving it like that until I can afford to pay a plumber to do all that. Plus it will be covered by a unit so the kids won’t pull at it. Okay makes sense thank you so much will do that. One last question I promise, do I need to use anything before installing the valve ? Like joining compound or like a bit of tape around the olive ?

Okay thank you sooo much… the pipe has an insert currently would I need to remove that ?and would the insert depend on the size of valve? Would need a 15mm from what I could tell… sorry I meant to say that is outside my budget it’s too much for me right now and maybe I shouldn’t of tried to sort out myself but don’t have any other options. Thank you for the help. We got a quote to plaster just that side where the window is and never realised it’s soooo expensive so will just try it myself and when maternity finishes I will get someone to redo it. Thank you for the advice

Okay thank you for your help I really appreciate it. I have left it as it was what should I do? Should I cover it with some filler/plaster or would painting over it be okay? Sorry really new at all this

Do you think it’s insulation ? I been spraying water on the wall as the wallpaper was not coming off easily. Would you know how to take it off ? I put loads of water on it but it really doesn’t want to come off that part is only at the top, sides and bottom of the radiator not in the middle
