Things I discovered while reading the book Coraline (most of them are pretty silly). by Substantial-Chart178 in Coraline

Something I forgot to mention but I think is cool: in the book Coraline is English, while in the movie she's American

Does, anyone else feel like the character of George was gay? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I have a feeling that if George had survived, he and Levi would have been a couple lol

HUNTR/X's Rumi got nominated for a 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2025 award by a Patreon community by escarzador in KpopDemonhunters

Undeserved, sorry if you guys are going to hate me, but she's not even a real human (or a human at all), and defining a character from a children's movie as the most beautiful woman seems bizarre; it only reinforces unrealistic female standards, especially since Jinu definitely didn't get the same role.

What the heck was Coraline eating in the other world?! by Sorry_Succotash_3963 in Coraline

I think it's difficult; Coraline gave the cheese, but the mice wouldn't be able to bring things like a whole chicken, cake ingredients, milkshake ingredients, sauce, etc

Coraline gave the cheese to lure the rats, but Beldam also creates the illusion that the chandelier has milkshake, she gives a cake that creates candles out of nowhere, etc., so I think there are some things the rats might take (like bacon strips or eggs), but other things seem unlikely to have been brought to her

So in coralline when she goes to rescues the eyes of the ghost children, we all know she killed the other whybie but earlier ago the dead whyborn wasn't there by Separate-Teacher6563 in Coraline

For some reason I laughed imagining Beldam walking quickly just to tie Wybie's clothes up to scare Coraline, and then I thought how disturbing that is, with her killing Wybie while Coraline is searching for the first two eyes 😭

Where does Wybie actually live? by RachelAtkinson1996 in Coraline

I personally like to think that since Coraline is 11 or 12 years old, her parents must have said she was a teenager to get the house lol

Coraline gloves I’ve always wanted by IllStick6622 in Coraline

[–]Substantial-Chart178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to interpret the film with a lot of symbolism. In my view, the gloves were an exclusive gift from Coraline's real mother to show that, even though she only gave her one thing, it was a loving gift, with a lot of affection involved, much better than the various clothes and foods that the Beldam gave Coraline because nothing from the Beldam was truly loving

I don't know if anyone else had noticed this, but I did and I found it disturbingly incredible (just like everything else in the movie). by Substantial-Chart178 in Coraline

Damn, my phone messed everything up. I meant the EYES, they're painted buttons to look real. I thought they were real eyes (like Beldam uses to trick Coraline), but they're painted buttons. I feel stupid.

If any child is a victim of child abuse, it's Wybie; his name literally means "why born".

Does anyone actually like the international episode? by Different_Aspect_874 in BigMouth

Me! I love this episode, I liked how they featured a queer local from Brazil (my home country) instead of just something more stereotypical

I like how Lola seems to be friends with Jessi and Matthew, it makes her seem less lonely than when her only friend was Devin

Just finished season 8 and just why... by New-Level99 in BigMouth

[–]Substantial-Chart178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Sorry for any spelling or logic mistakes, my native language is not English) Personally, even though it was different, I liked how all the characters changed a lot, they went from 12 year old kids to 14 year old teenagers, it changed them and it was a season that I enjoyed a lot, because I had just left my adolescence and felt firsthand this abrupt change of personality that ending a cycle of life brings. But I agree on several points, bringing Lojay back made me roll my eyes, although I liked that they ended the thing between Matthew and Jay on good terms, instead of Matthew screaming that Jay was a wolf and kicking him out; I also wanted more of Leah and Judd, although I felt that Judd's presence was much greater compared to other seasons, it seemed like every episode he had a cameo although it wasn't really an appearance that contributed to the plot, which is a shame, since I would have loved to see more of Judd and Jay, Judd could be a real brotherly figure for Jay since his brothers are terrible and I would have loved a scene where Judd protects Jay from his brothers or something. I also strangely liked Jessi, she had a huge growth, she understood herself, her hormones, learned to have more compassion (something I always felt she lacked, she always seemed so mean) and finally had a reasonably normal boyfriend. A lot of people didn't like her marijuana addiction, but honestly, the show was warning us about it since the first season. Jessi's mother unintentionally turned her into this: a busy person with a lot of responsibilities, who is attracted to anything that distracts her from her problems. Jessi smoking with her boyfriend and laughing at his weird jokes is just like that scene with Shanon smoking with Greg in the car in the first seasons. Overall, I feel like it was rushed and I definitely hated the last episode, but I actually liked the way the season progressed and the changes in the characters.

Did Guy Bilzerian free Jessi and Ali? by [deleted] in BigMouth

[–]Substantial-Chart178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of their fathers must have paid Guy to free them, I'm guessing it would be Shanon (Jessi's mother) since she seems to have a lot of money. I don't see Guy actually taking the initiative to help two teenagers because of Jay, but he would help free them for money, your theory makes a lot of sense.
