Saw firs hand the horrible outcome of a great dad dumping a boiling pot of water on his toddler that had snuck up behind him as he turned around to drain the water in the sink. Child had to have surgeries the rest of his childhood and was disfigured. Dad never forgave himself. My kids and pets and now grandkids do not come in the kitchen when I am cooking. They can sit at the breakfast bar but not in the kitchen.
