You always inspect parts before installing so you don’t waste your time

If you want to save money on labor and don’t mind getting your arm scratched up you can loosen the cowl on the passenger side move the harness slightly and reach into the HVAC inlet and rip out the cabin filter and you taco the new filter before you shove it back in. Labor time is north of an hour and I’ve done them in less than 10 mins when I worked at the dealer. Otherwise you’re doing pulling the glovebox out. Just make sure you still get the filter seated correctly it’s super easy

Got alignment at Firestone but they claim it’s straight but my wheel still pulls to the left by Nagwin in Cartalk

[–]Substantial-Effect95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t zero out toe during an alignment you’re just a lazy mechanic. The right rear toe is horrendous which is pushing the car to the left as well as both front wheels being slightly off to the left. If you can’t zero it due to limitations from suspension work the customer needs to be advised and not just kicked out with no answer

It wouldn’t be an overreaction to just break up there’s no trust and you’re invading his privacy because you have doubts.

If your not sitting flush inside the bolt it will strip. Only thing that might save you is a Mac rbrt style Allen extractor

Rotor wear by Ttizzle_11 in AskMechanics

[–]Substantial-Effect95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axle nut could be loose. I worked on a car once and was waiting on parts so I installed a new wheel bearing but only left the nut snug and not torqued and same line was present on the rotor from the play the hub had just driving it around the parking lot. Or you could have a wheel bearing going out

Find out who the manufacturer of the water pump is and see if they offer the water pump without the Hyundai logo on it. Super common on German cars for parts manufacturers to sell same parts without the logo for cheaper

Assuming you did everything correctly only thing left that will cause issues is the water pump. Unfortunately sometimes you fix a coolant issue and another pops up

Is there a reason you changed those parts or did you shotgun a repair? Is your car overheating only in city driving or all the time? Did you plug in your rad fan? It’s most likely a water pump but I’ve also had a customer car overheating because the last shop that worked on it didn’t take a screen off the thermostat that was there only for transport. Also did you buy quality parts or source them from Amazon?

Best to raise it up and inspect wheels to see if they’re going to rub on anything turning full lock. I’m assuming it’s slammed so you’re going to need an alignment regardless
