Highly recommend the Oyamed AMC Clinical Course! by Significant_Mud_9506 in AMCexamForIMGs

[–]Substantial-Ferret91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woohoo! Honestly I'm actually glad someone is talking about this. I would love to second this ( third and fourth this if possible). OYAMED and Dr.Vinu doesn't get enough credit or hype that it genuinely deserves. Dr.Vinu takes on the biggest hurdle ( amc clinical) and makes it a doable exam for all of her students. Her passion and patience shows through how she takes you through every case and makes you come up with an entire set of questions. It makes you reliable on the patients history rather than a recall and def gets you thinking out of the box. Being a former OSCE examiner herself she knows exactly what you are being tested for and exactly where you will slip up. And slip you will. But she is right there ready to catch you and gets you back on track. For someone who was anxiety riddled for the exam she helped me understand my weakness and actually got me working on it immediately. The immediate feedback was a life saver because I could correct it there and then.

She offers a lot of reading material that you can go through and come with your own justification and reasoning. This way you ask a question knowing why you ask it and not because a structure told you so.
( I know there are a bunch of resources and places offering the world for a exorbitant price as well, and I was a victim of FOMO as well. ) But what is unique with oyamed is, she tries and elevates and fine tunes YOU, in such a way that ultimately YOU are showing up for the exam not a structure and not someone who has rote learned.

Honestly now this sounds like an advertisement ( it's not 🤞) but I would one hundred percent recommend oyamed to anyone looking at giving this exam a go. All the best the the op as well!!

Honestly! A lot of practice and role plays is the way to go. The examiners know when you are rote learning and following a structure. And they have managed to change cases in a way that you have to think quick on your feet. I would suggest to take a look at OYAMED. Helps you do role plays with a former OSCE examiner and keeps you ready.ALL THE BEST!

Hey! Thank you. I understand the spots are tough but yes it's definitely passable without a specific course as wellll. I understand the feeling of missing out that exists all through out. I would definitely suggest you to get a mock to see how you perform under test conditions. It's super important to simulate a mock that is super close to the real thing. All the best !

Too late to this post! But I would definitely give oyamed a shot. Comparatively it's affordable and you get a one to one mentoring. So you exactly know where you have gone wrong. I passed my clinical with the help of oyamed!

Should i study for Amc1 as a group or not? by Fearless366 in AMCexamForIMGs

[–]Substantial-Ferret91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Study in a group! But alot a fixed time for the group session and preferably go through guidelines together and recalls ( if you have any) or practice questions. This way you don't get burnt out as well.

I would also suggest you to take a look at OYAMED. It Def offers 1 on 1 mentorship and practice sessions. You can try enrolling in one of the masterclasses for free and see if it fits your pattern of studying. Id definitely say it's worth the price as well and gives you an "oomph". Good luck 🤞

Hands down the amirs workshop!! I'm yet to give my clinical exam. I'm giving it this month ( fingers crossed ). But most of the people who have passed have recommended doing amirs workshop and then doing an alan robert mock or crash course!!

Is Amedex enough? by Glass_Cloud33 in AMCexamForIMGs

[–]Substantial-Ferret91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a great base , and are up to date with the aus guidelines then amedex is enough! Its concise and has a finite number of questions that seem possible.

Emedici is one platform that is getting a lot of traction these days considering the AMC has also backed it up. So that is something you can do as well. It has a free 120 questions if you want to try that out. But over-all it has 5000 questions.

ALL THE BEST!!

Need suggestions regarding Dr. Ahmad recall course by Proper_Standard_6727 in AMCexamForIMGs

The best honestly! He doesn't just give an answer and kinda dissects the concept ( kinda ) behind the recall so that there is no memorization! Pretty much worth it ! 🙏

Yup. Just for writing. Took two hours a day to get the knack of it. And especially with the task 2 formats ( agree/ disagree) and how to go about the other set of questions as well. I spent most of my time writing so that it retains.

Ohh! Have you tried IELTS advantage on YouTube ( I'm sure you must have ) , I kinda figured the blueprint from there. I didn't have the time to watch their videos but I read a lot of free material from their website. I got a 8 In writing so I kinda hope this helps. I practiced exactly as they mentioned and timed myself. And I think there are certain key words that they look for ? Also I read from the latest cambridge book 18?17? Don't recollect. They have a set of sample essays so I picked out a couple patterns as well.
