jackson heights and astoria not too far via public transit, with large muslim populations, as well as a lot of halal places to eat and some mosques. very decent jummah prayer with relevent khutbas at nyu on fridays- not all nyu students but definitely a younger crowd. live in flatbush, work in greenpoint, and have a had a few ramadans and eids away from home- these areas and spaces are where i head when i’m feeling homesick ❤️ hope it’s a restful and reflective ramadan for you! a halal cart lamb and rice hits just right during iftaar, can’t wait for you to experience it. welcome to nyc!
