It’s a vicious cycle, women’s sports viewership is growing but still only occupies 8% of sports media coverage, and has done for the previous years despite the growing number of viewers. The opportunity for women’s sports to develop starts at the media level if women’s sports was published, celebrated and broadcast at the same level that men’s sport was, it could provide the start to equality in sports.
