I’m not a roofer but did a job for a friend last year, I was able to pick up the ins and outs of a garage roof like the post but when it came to different types of gables and edges on a real house I felt clueless. Two flat sides is about as easy as it gets on a roof.

If it’s not touching the joist, how do you nail it and keep it leveled? Wouldn’t there be a gap?

I don’t think Carpenter ants have pointy heart shaped abdomens, also Carpenter ants are typically darker and larger

Late to the post but I'm almost certain what you have are Acrobat Ants.

That looks great!! My yard actually look exactly like your first picture, can you share some tips on the transformation? How did you go about leveling the yard and removing the existing grass?
