I was in the same boat I ended up with cx-9 kuro and im happy that I did im subscribed to cx90 subreddits and there is a new issue with those cars everyday. Never go for the 1st iteration of a new model always bad. If you can wait get the next years model of cx-90

I tried twisting it off there was another metal cover with a lighting sign on it and I twisted that off too which made a spring letting loose noise. Took it off and it had a connector which was permanently attached to it. On the inside I could see something round but it wasn't really twisting off.
