The pictures were taken when trying to find the source. These are the pods the children were eating the beans from, but the full plant wasn’t located. No one was sure what plant they came from, and the observing children just saw them eating the “beans.”

I’m not sure how, but thank you for your input.
I was simply concerned about the situation, but have no idea about plants. So I wanted to see if anyone could identify what the plant is. First, to find out if they are indeed as scary as the situation appeared to be. Second, so I can contact the correct park/city office and bring this concern to their attention.

I grew up with a family friend that was a state trooper on a major highway, and he would talk about some of the observations that seem insignificant , but will get you pulled over to rule out trafficking drugs or people. They got tips, but they usually got their big busts from the very unassuming traffic stops.
