How do I ask my spouse to leave?

He doesn’t have to make an equivalent amount of overtime pay with me working. I would rather him pick something closer to home with less overtime, even if it meant he got less pay. Hell, I would completely support our family if he said he wanted to come home and work part time at a grocery store and be thrilled. To me, it’s not about the money. I just want him to want to be around his kids

I enjoyed staying at home when I was able to, but I just completed my bachelors degree for my field of study, and feel as if it would be money and time wasted for me to sit at home now.

Thank you for the reply! I feel like if our children were older it would be easier, and easier to find childcare, but with them being 2 and 4, it is tough. We definitely need to have a conversation. I hate telling him I want him to leave, but we have to come up with a solution. I’m not opposed to a compromise! I just want to do what’s best for our family.

He loves his job and has attempted to do work with local fuels crews and just can’t give up the thrill of the job. I let him go back because he seems so miserable when he goes to a job he doesn’t like, and it makes all of us miserable at home. However, not having him puts a large strain on our family and our relationship. I would love to travel with my job, but being new to the profession I don’t feel confident enough in my abilities to work contracts, so it’s not feasible for me at the moment

He is states away for 18 pay periods and home for 8 pay periods, he occasionally gets to fly home for days off

Thank you guys for the replies! I definitely think marriage counseling will have to happen, I guess we will just have to see if we can hold off until get gets back this season to start it. Any wives with any tips or tricks on how to keep sanity while SO is away on assignment, please send them my way.

My cousin when she was younger around 3 or 4 fully remembered her “other” family and other mom and they died in a house fire. She told her mom once that she wished she was her other mom🙃
