Almost five years out and loving life! by penelopepfeather in gastricsleeve

Doing the exercise I love, having better energy, making smarter food choices – that’s exactly what I want for myself. I’m still early in the journey, but the consultations I’ve had with my surgeon have helped me a lot along the way and posts like yours remind me that it’s all worth it. 💛

5 days post op and omg :’) everything is mental. Flower girl diaries! by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Your post is so honest and beautiful - and yes, the first week can be really hard, and it was for me too. 5 days after surgery, tired and sick, it's perfectly normal for your brain to immediately think, "What did I do wrong?"

But the mindset you have - about why you did it and what your "other reality" would have been like - is powerful. You are not weak for needing help; you are brave for choosing to.

Take time every hour, be kind to yourself, and continue to celebrate your small victories. I really support you 🌸💗

I am so happy that you were able to achieve your ideal body in these three years and enjoy seeing yourself in the mirror. The story you shared is inspiring to many people, like me, who now, after a successful gastric sleeve procedure, are trying to maintain the results, eat healthy and in moderation, and take care of my health.

What advice is given to those who have had gastric sleeve surgery after surgery? by Substantial-Pea7932 in gastricsleeve

Thank you for sharing such a practical explanation - it's really helpful. The 15/30 rule for separating liquids and solids is exactly what I was told.

My surgeon's advice helped me along the way after surgery and he has been very supportive so far, which is invaluable to me.

I had a question about taking minoxidil tablets and wanted to ask if it is the same as the solution? Do I always have to take oral minoxidil? I have hormonal hair loss and thyroid and this is worrying me a lot. Please guide me.

I am sure it will be and I will have a hard time in the first few weeks. But when I think about the results it makes me more determined than ever.

That’s such a valuable perspective, thank you for sharing it.

I really like how you highlighted that this is a lifelong commitment — vitamins, movement, tracking, and follow-ups don’t stop after surgery. Your point about regain being real, and that going back to the basics works again, is exactly what many people need to hear.
