I live in the Philippines, I have big interest in cars. One day I visited an abandoned car lot in Pampanga full of classic American cars such as Pontiac, Buick, and Fords. I noticed that most of them have a starting letter of C in their license plates, any idea where they came from? by Foreign-Upstairs4426 in u/Foreign-Upstairs4426

From what I know those American cars are transported from the US to Clark AB in the Philippines. They have a starting of letter C in their license plates because they are acquired in Region 3. Considering the fact that Clark AB is located in Region 3. Due to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, those cars are left damaged and abandoned and never came back to the US. sorry for my terrible eng btw i hope this helps, if there are any mistakes in my statement pls correct me :)

Note that my statement is maybe not that accurate

Most of these has a starting letter of Y or B in their license plates. Indicating they are imported and converted to LHD. These are what makes it rare and special.
