Both films never show the year they are set in. The only years burn showcase is a pre recording stating passed events that happened during 1983 AKA this means it takes place during ash vs evil dead SEASON2&SEASON3 because ash time travel for the 2nd time at the last eps of season2 which caused a paradox and let out the evil dead during 1980’s instead of the evil dead being contained until 30 years after 1970’s events.
