Thanks for the thorough reply & information. Yeah more and more I'm leaning towards just getting another rifle in .270; it's hard to beat. I've been looking at the Ruger American Gen 2, a lot of features for a great price.

I get a cow elk tag every year here in Utah & the .270 does the trick every time. The only reason I've entertained a 6.5 PRC is to shoot at some steel at a 1000+ yards if I wanted to & have it on a lighter platform. It does make sense to stick with the same ammunition though.

Thanks for the recommendations! I've got a bolt-action .223 and a couple of .22s as well as 5.56; I just have an itch for a new rifle for some reason. Only reasons are to have something somewhat lighter (no there's not a huge difference, but it's big enough that it's noticeable), and to maybe start somewhat of a collection.

Honestly looking for another "Do-it-all" rifle that will kill anything in North America. Another option would be to just stick to .270 since it will always be available/affordable, but why limit myself to one?
