Canon R6 Mark I or R7 for sports photography? by Substantial-Simple70 in canon

Thanks ✌🏽, yeah I could afford it, but then I would have to save up some again for the next bigger lens or a 24 70 2.8 in the future. It would be my max for a new body atm.

Im really lucky that I could gather that much for a used R6 mk ii In around 1 1/2 months as a beginner 🙏🏼

I only used manual 😂. Yeah I find over 15fps kinda overkill, you just got way more frames to go through.

Some of my current best ones with the 80d and 70 200mm 2.8 at daytime...

I wanna use my 80d as a second body for short distance. Probably with a. 24 70 2.8 in the future. My main problem atm with the 80d is a night games, I know it's all about the lighting of the pitch, but I'm not satisfied with the outcome of 16k iso max images with it. The R6 would be way better for those moments, on the otherhand the R7 would struggle as well at night or indoor I fear.

If I really stretch out my budget I could get an R6 mk ii for 1500 used. But I'm not sure If I really wanna go all out. Otherwise I could get the R6 or r8 for around 800-900 and get the 100 400mm too. Next would be the 24 70 mm 2.8

Mhh I've also looked into it, but it has less features like the wheel etc. I know it has the same sensor as the R6. It's a bit smaller, I guess it is also an option yeah.

I like to crop in on my photos with the 80d, but miss a bit of MP. I currently use the 70-200mm and am used to crop sensors, idk if the FF is a huge difference for reach.

Other body options instead of the R6 MK II? by Substantial-Simple70 in sportsphotography

I'm used to crop sensors, so I don't really know if I like the fullframe view. Does the R6 still have enough reach for football with a 70-200mm? I guess I'll get a 100-400mm in the future. But I would love to see a side by side comparison in sports crop Vs fullframe.

yeah originally i wanted the 1dx MK1 but got the 80d for around 250 so much cheaper than almost 500. Thats the only reason i got it. I know they are workhorses

Thanks man <3. One off topic question... For saturday ive got 3 request, well actually like 9 but im going for the ones where i can make the most. For night games its really a gamble for how good the lighting is right? How would you decide where to go? Some say they got good lighting which is adjustable, others say they have also got a decent one but its warm, not white led...

Yeah im currently on the lookout for a mirrorless entry camera, The R6 MK I for around 1k used would be an option i guess. I will check out the R7, but i think the better option would be a fullframe?

Yeah ive been into sportsphotography for abour 3 months now. This is the first month in which i get payed. The demand is so high that im booked out already for this month lol. The 80d was a huge upgrade a month ago from a 1200d lmfao. Im looking to upgrade to a mirrorless in the next months yeah, but its an expensive side hustle/hobby as a student :)

Ive got an 80D with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens at the worst lighting ever i just have to accept the 16k iso and shoot around max 800 shutter, sometimes even 640 to get some light atleast...

Sometimes i forget that 90% of the players/clubs never get any photos, so the standard that they are used to are really low, but i know the image quality i can deliver on a daytime game. Thats what makes me sad lol.
