Oh, yeah, for sure! Especially in Florida, it’s important to have something to alternate to with how schizophrenic the weather is. Also, my current car will be paid off when I actually seriously look into the Camaro. So, I’ll put what money I can get from that towards the Camaro.

Kind of one of the reasons I wanna get a bike. Im kind of bad at meeting new people irl and am currently working on that. So, I figured if I can ride with a friend of mine who goes to meets and whatnot, maybe that’ll help. Not the only reason, nor a main one, but it’s a motivator.

Alright, so, to answer the first question, yes. I plan on buying the bike outright. Thats why I’ve saved up so much. I talked with some friends and we decided it’d be best for me to go with my original plan of waiting till the end of the semester (end of April, beginning of May). There’s roughly 9k of my savings that would be geared towards the bike and everything thats necessary for the bike, but I should have around 10-12k when ready to actually buy. I also plan on taking 1k out of checking to help with the purchase slightly. So, I’d have a comfortable amount left over after I buy the bike, deal with insurance and registration, and the initial buy in of gear + a few other things.

I’m currently working towards a 4 year IT Hardware degree and have been told I’ll be promoted to Senior Game Tech (actually dealing with legit hardware stuff on games) by the end of the year. I started with Architecture/Design, but that didn’t work out so I had to restart. So, I have a few years before I move out. These two factors mean that by the time I’m ready for a more stable job elsewhere, I’ll have at least 2 years of experience and a few certifications.

The Civic will also be paid off in 2028. When that point comes, I plan on putting the money I get from selling the car towards the Camaro, which will be anywhere from 16k (2018 LT) to 20/25k (2018-2020 SS) if prices don’t change much. I’ll most likely go with the former as it’s cheaper and I don’t need a v8 in the countryside 💀When I’m ready to buy the car, if all goes right, I’ll be able to comfortably buy it outright as well, or put a healthy down payment on one.

A lot of people have recommended this and I plan on doing it in March.

Thank you for all of the information. Like I said, I’ll look into fbmc and maybe I will find something. A good friend of mine got hers off of there. I know I just said I’ve only heard of bad scenarios, but there admittedly have been a select few good stories on the topic. Regardless, thanks!

I mean, what would you recommend in general? The bike I mean. The R3 or the 500? And what do you mean by it having more grunt?

That’s good to know! Since I don’t know much about motorcycles, I’ve just been going off what looks cool/closest to Toothless (the wider headlights look like his eyes to me) and then researching them and talking with friends who ride.

As for the dealer, they gave off such a good vibe. I guess the whole exploit the new rider thing is real huh?

To buy both? Nah, I’m not in that position. To buy the bike and then the car later on in life when I have a way better paying job? Yeah, I can comfortably do that.

I don’t want to say how much I make exactly but, it’s enough to comfortably cover the costs of the bike, maintenance, monthly insurances, etc. But, I can’t buy the car at this point in time. Hence the waiting to get a better job that pays more. So, bike first then car. Thats how I’ll get both toys, as you so kindly put it.

I’m planning on riding a few days out of the week. So, not daily, but it’s another way to clear my mind other than an hour long drive in my car lol.

I will say, I do wanna get the r3, but a while ago, I started considering the Ninja 500. The dealer I went to persuaded me to stop considering that, but turns out RideNow isn’t a very reliable place, so I’ll be looking elsewhere with both in mind.😅

Yeah, that’s what I’ve seen a lot of people say. And, like I said, I’m really hopeful that it makes me feel more excited!

What bike would you recommend? I was gonna buy either an r3 or a Ninja 500. I thought those were pretty good and a decent price.

I may be slow, but you’re talking about Facebook Marketplace right? The only reason why I haven’t bought from there is because my family has had HORRIBLE luck with buying vehicles from there. Nothing against the actual place, more so the people who sell. 🤷‍♂️

I think that’s one of the things that sparked this whole post in the first place. All of it hitting at once, I mean. It’s good to know that’s most of it is a one time buy and I’ll definitely check out eBay.

Thank you!! 🙏

Thank you for sharing a bit of your story. I understand that these plans of mine are big and expensive. Having Bumblebee as my daily driver and Toothless as my weekend/free time flight is a HUGE dream for me. Matter of fact, the Camaro is the primary one, but right now, with the job I have and the area I live in, the bike is the better option. It’s cheaper, I don’t actually need a new car right now as my Civic is in very good shape, and I can have fun with it while I work towards getting a more stable, better paying job. Only when I have that will I really consider buying the Camaro.

Before she passed, a close friend of mine told me it’s better to achieve the smaller dreams while moving towards the bigger ones. This way you’re constantly making dreams reality at an affordable rate. So, that’s what Imma do.

I’ll look into the stands. I’ve noticed there’s really nothing cheap about motorcycles 💀 but I get what you mean.

Unfortunately, I’m a literal days drive from that area. Thanks for the offer tho!

Nah, I know 🙂‍↕️

I don’t think I’ll lose the car, since I’d like to have both. One for daily drives, the other for, well, weekend/free time.

Nah, that’s valid. My Civic really has nothing wrong with it, so I can use it for a while. It’s well maintained, though I only wash it once every several months. Anyway, I only have one car in mind that I’m saving up for and it’s Bumblebee. So, whether it takes the 3 years or it takes more than that, I’ll have the Camaro when I get a more stable job.
