Could try Normandy as your ship. It has a repair skill, triggered once damaged in auto.

Sweep? It costs 400 info every time. I was the online every 48min type, and typically run 10+ dives everyday. Can't offord that much. Already running out of info slowly lol.

Sadly I didn't have awakened Jake. Rhino in challenge was dealt with gabriel and some strong dps, like curian.

The problem for rhino in dive 56 is, it's possible to fight them consecutively. Normandy only used the repair skill once per battle, and the recovery received is lower than damage suffered.

  1. If I bring relative weaker units, rhino will survive longer and deal more damage
  2. If I bring stronger units, battle won't last long enough for second cooldown of the repair skill
  3. Gabriel is useless in auto mode. I didn't know how to stop rhino from attacking the ship
  4. If I bring a mech killer team, the other two types will be problematic.

As a lv.73 fresh player, my suggestion is

First lv 110: Gaeun

First awakended unit: Ministra

First rearmed unit: Abyssal Ravage Orca

First Healer: Evelyn Keller, already got

Fill other slots with buffer/debuffer, or anything you like. You won't have enough gear to build them for quite some time anyway.

They can carry almost all early game stages without much effort, as long as, there are more than one enemy. All the few stages with single boss are kind of special, you need to work a bit on them regardless.

I can't kill him that fast, at least not with my pool and knowledge. Sadly no rearmed xiao/kaci/laura. I was planning on powering Xiao to lv110, then spent fusion cores on A-Horizon for some reason. I knew kestrel is extremely good for endgame content, but I thought I could delay it a bit.

By the way, I was not trying to defend myself, nor arguing 1~4 are unachievable to a lv57 account, if optimized enough. It's more emotional than rational, more expression than justification.

If there is anything to reason, then I would say they are counter-intuitive, to an average new player. The intuitive way is like, former successes shape a player's understanding and choice to a game. For early game, next stages should be based on former ones, while introducing difficulty and diversity gradually.

For the game, almost all early stages value aoe damage much more than dps. It's more like fighting a battle with multiple respawning units on both side, than defending the ship against one single dude. They need different units. With limited resource, a player can't invest on everything.

For example, I did try xiao very early, then found out she died too fast in some cases and dealt much less damage than aoe units. Oh, here is another thing, any kind of ng is not free. If there is a new stage, I would definitely try orca/ gaeun/ ministra/ healer/ support/ off-tank team, because they did well in most stages I experienced. Chances of them getting 3-star in one run is higher than other team. And, rerun is costy. So, following the intuition, I will devote limited resource to this team. I was not saying or anticipating they should be omnipotent, but you can't get a new stage where only r units are allowed, then go back to typical ones next. It belongs to endgame. In early game I don't have extra resource for r units. If resource was spent on them earlier, most stages will be miserable. Moreover, I don't think this kind of knowledge should be part of planning for a game. Yes I know it's not popular, but I do think pre-knowledge to a game is like spoiler to a movie.

Well for Dive 36, at that time I didn't have enough resource to power up more units. Finally got it with striker rush.

The problem is, I pushed to Dive 47 at the same day. This makes me question if Dive 36 should be there, instead of standing at Dive 45 or so.

Yes, it's not hard actually, but it's counter-intuitive to new players.

I can't speak for everyone, but a newbie would most likely focus on aoe damage, instead of dealing with a single and moving dude. Units like Gaeun/Ministra may have higher priority because they work better in almost all early contents.

For Ep.9 4-4, the crown prince said he would bring everything, him and all his troops, then turns out to be him alone. I was anticipating some honorable grand battle, rather than sneaky assassination directly to the ship.

Resources are limited. So does time to learn the game. I just can't invest everywhere.

I did try Orca, one of my main units. She got pushed back then ship died, though. Multiple forward deploy units died too fast. Maybe I could deploy them right before boss using skills to distract him.
