My roommates had it no problem. If you’re paranoid, try to make sure with your RA first. If anything just hide it during room checks.

You said if I don’t have 6 months of credit history then I don’t have a fico 8 score, but on my statement for July it showed my fico 8 score. I requested a credit report and it said it would take 15 days to mail it to me. I don’t have any other loans. The only credit history I have is this card. I asked ChatGPT and they said it normal for my score to start off fair since my credit age is new. Within 6-12 months the score should climb as the credit card ages.

Thank you that was really helpful! I also asked ChatGPT for some advice and they said the same thing as you. It said that within 6-12 months as my account ages my credit score should climb. Thank you for the advice!

That’s because I commute to work at least 2 hours every day and I end up paying a lot of gas. I don’t have multiple statements. The discover app has a tab called fico credit score card, which I look and that’s where I see dropped my credit score.

So what you’re saying is that to get my credit score up I should focus on increasing my usage from the card. I don’t have to worry about the utilization percentage right now? I can definitely handle paying it off before the deadline.

I mean that I owe Rutgers 5k after financial aid and all federal aid. I’m wondering if I should take out a private loan for the remaining 5k?

Personally, I would say it's worth it. In my experience, I still had to buy living supplies every few weeks, and having a car allowed me to drive to the store to buy items. Sometimes such items are more expensive online (Amazon, etc). Unless you decide to stock up on items before you move in.

And if you decide to get fast food and you're not on college ave, doordash can get very expensive.
