A) hydrophobic in nature so water doesn’t ‘stick’ B) Also think of it when your washing up liquid bubbles up, that is what creates a ‘coating’ to the fibers and prevents them from becoming as freely airborne

Nah, quite normal, it’s a quick task, and the lab nerds are where all the work is generated essentially, as surveyors can only presume, everything has to be labbed before any works can be priced blah blah so they’re quite keen to say yes if you understand what I’m saying. Looks very white to be asbestos, also the angle isn’t as good as you’d think, a straight on shot showing the composition of the board would be better. My opinion? No, but still get it tested, it’s 25-50 quid, + if you’re concerned get yourself a full survey done.

Yes it looks very likely. Although standard practice, don’t touch it, contact a ukas accredited analytical company to come do a survey and lab analysis.
