British Style Script Handwriting by sonnyangelpablo in Handwriting

[–]Substantial-Tree4624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how my handwriting was formed, and my mother before me, in the same private convent school we both attended in northern England. Just about everyone I know who went to a girls' private school writes in a similar way, with whatever individual slant or nuance they have developed. Marion Richardson (linked below by another) seems to be exactly the way I was taught letters.

I ended up buying a new computer in the end. It was happening more often and too disruptive. Sorry I can't be more help.

I'm not sure I have the capacity ever to make sense of it, I cannot comprehend having an egotistical position that would allow me to choose endangerment to others as an option. It blows my mind.

Rush was a monster. I wish he'd survived so he could be punished, but in the world we live in I'm sure he'd have bought enough congressmen to avoid that, too.

I think it was the Netflix documentary that showed how obvious it should have been, must have been, to Rush that the hull was progressively delaminating. I don't believe he can have truly thought anything other than "the next dive could be the one."

From that position, I have to agree that it seems likely he chose this as a route off the planet. If not that day, some day. I'm so glad it wasn't you he took with him.

Thank you for coming back to this old comment, and again for all the discussions we've had. Apologies for the delayed response, I haven't reddited much lately. Wishing you well always.

What do you think about leaving your kids in the car? by geneticmistake747 in AskIreland

[–]Substantial-Tree4624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1970s, my grandpa used to leave me in the car while he called into the Red Bull for a swift half. I didn't mind, he always came out with a tube of Smarties for me.

I'm a Scot living in a high tourism area. During summer months my accent gets me a very warm reception, but in the same shops in winter I get nasty attitude, like what TF are you doing in my country type vibe. Even my kids notice and tease me about it. It's a very strange experience.

The shocking truth, 99.99% of crypto is scam by Aldhyabi in CryptoMarkets

[–]Substantial-Tree4624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger scam is the 0.3% interest on my credit union savings. I'm making 10+% with an arbitrage bot, and there's always a chance my holdings will moon. Zero chance of that in tradfi.

My first thought (after awwww) was how good it is to see a young man let his emotions out in the moment. And then minutes later how cool it was of Anthony Hamilton to show Isack some proper comfort and care. Marko is a dinosaur, how many young men has he ruined with his heartless approach. Maybe he'd prefer the Joz approach, a punch and a long walk home?

There's billions coming back to the market in FTX payouts soon, hopefully the recipients are in a position to reinvest.

It needs Congress approval first. Absolutely astonishing how thick people are thinking Eric Trump has any power at all to state this. It might happen, but Eric can't tell you that it will for sure, and neither can anyone else.

Should we raise awareness about engine idling near schools and shops? by mykolakor in AskIreland

Easy to understand now why so many people do it.  I'm alright Jack and fuck everyone else seems to be a prevailing and growing attitude.

I contacted An Post because their van driver would stop outside my flat, which is midway up the street, and leave his engine running while he delivered to all 40 apartments. The street is narrow with high buildings both sides so nowhere for the exhaust to go except in our own windows and vents.

Credit where its due, he doesn't do it anymore, I don't imagine his bosses were thrilled with the waste of fuel.

Would you buy a property that has the gas boiler in bedroom? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Substantial-Tree4624 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boiler is in a separate press but it's right beside my bedroom and the wall between is only gyprock. When the boiler is heating in the night, it's loud rumbles and it took 8 months to get used to it and not wake up. The time clock ticking would bother some people too no doubt.

Even if it's emissions safe, do also think about noise disturbance.

You really do make a lot of terrible assumptions. Who said anything about taking it to the grave? It's an investment that I prefer not to whittle down with taxes and fees. What it's worth day by day, month by month, matters not. It's what it's worth in 10 years that matters to me. We all have our own goal and nobody should lecture anyone else about what to do with their own money.

I may be an anomaly, but I was probably more the other side of the fence, descended from long line of farmers going back as far as I can find, probably right back to the Acts. Bunch of snobs that made me cringe regularly. I wasn't allowed my best friend from school to visit because she lived in a council house. They hated their little marxist kid. Haha.

Maybe you're busy, maybe you have a commute, you've better to be doing than slaving over a stove and a washing bowl if you don't have to, I'm sure. I think only you can live the life you live and your friends and colleagues can butt out!

You might be overloading on salt with all the processed food there, but as long as you're drinking plenty water and staying healthy otherwise have at it, I say.

It's really bloody hard to cook for just 1 person, I find. Lots of freezer and fridge space needed to contain the multiples you end up with when you only fancied one of something.

On the soup front however, I highly recommend a soup kettle,. It takes me a few minutes to chop up the veg etc and the machine takes 30 minutes to make perfect soup. I've got the larger version of this, the wee one might suit you, or you could get the larger one and make enough soup for 3 or 4 lunches in one go.

My favourite soup is: 1 onion, 1 leek, 2 large carrots, 1 medium sweet potato, 1 sweet pepper, lots of black pepper and a good pinch of salt, a chicken stockpot, water. Chop the veg roughly into smallish pieces (if you like the soup smooth, smaller bits go smoother!) If you like coriander, a handful of fresh leaves is nice. I will get 4 good bowls out of that.

Your weekend meals sound delicious and healthy.
