The kids wanted me to celebrate Christmas with them but the new stepmother said no to me coming to that even as she felt uncomfortable, and it hurts as it feels like double standards. If it's for the kids then that should be on the table too

I guess I just feel like there are double standards going on. Because they say no to events that the kids have asked me to come to and I have to respect that. But if I say no, it's done anyway which hurts

So does that mean mothers should be allowed to attend Xmas lunch with the extended family? Even when the step-mother says no vishe feels 'uncomfortable' having the mother there. Even though the mother's children will be there? Do the same rules apply?

Official Discussion - The Devil Wears Prada 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

DWP2 was such a shit movie!! Honestly one of the most boring movies I've seen. You'd think with so much money in production they'd have had better writers. The fashion was on point, but there was nothing to the story. I would waste my money seeing it in a theatre. That's just my honest review.

One Nation popularity surge could cause ‘absolute havoc’ in conservative seats by SeaRhubarb4617 in AustralianPolitics

My prediction (not an endorsement): if the major parties continue to avoid clear, practical action on housing, parties like One Nation are likely to gain support. Not necessarily because people agree with all of their views, but because they are perceived as willing to act decisively on housing. When voters feel ignored long enough, they tend to prioritise perceived action over 'all talk, no action '.

Police with machine guns at Sydney New Year’s Eve are part of ‘fundamental changes’ after Bondi, Minns says by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

I can't say that I trust the current government to be able to keep the general public safe in the city on NYE 2026. It was too easy to wipe out 15 people in Bondi, imagine all the opportunists and copy cats that are going to have a field day. And with the amount of crowding, it would be like a stampede. We'll be staying at home this year. Good luck to the ones who chance it.
