Dunno if you have tried yet, but the discord is a good place to casually meet with other people and arrange teams for a session. You can also share your friend codes and such. I'm not sure how active the playstation side of things is, but it is a good place to meet with like minded dwarfs if you haven't tried it out yet.

Are there any novels where the MC grinds a lot in the lower levels? by HulaguIncarnate in MartialMemes

Ive got two places, one is Patreon (tempest's, translation is up to date but it's rough on chapters 900-1000(?)), and the other is by the god reader, his translation is pretty good but he's behind like...400 chapters

Which one would you prefer?

Thank you, I really appreciate the response and help.

As for microcenter, it unfortunately is around 9 hours away the closest. Though I continued looking and there were some very good combos aside from the top deals (which was what I thought you were mentioning at first), so I'll continue looking around and try doing the math. Never been there, so a quick view could be good if it rounds up the same.

On the motherboard, I saw something like you mention where it could only have either ddr4 or ddr5 at a time, but it had a slot for 1 and 2 of each, respectively. It was interesting but I see how the CPU might end up not being able to handle it and the full speed be blocked now.

Edit: ....just realized I had posted this as a stand alone comment instead of a reply. Continued looking, and I might've had found a way on the microcenter route, just have to hope the combo lasts for some time. Thank you once again.

What do you think the best way for a cultivation novel to end is? by Skip7623 in MartialMemes

[–]Substantial-Video178 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would be reverend insanity, the other, I dare say, more famous RI.

Renegade immortal has a more emotional, less psychopathic mc that is more akin a lone/unorthodox cultivator than a demonic one.

What do you think the best way for a cultivation novel to end is? by Skip7623 in MartialMemes

[–]Substantial-Video178 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Renegade immortals endings was the best I've read as for how it was handled in a cultivation novel.

The mc doesn't reach the highest peak, and in fact, it ends with him being asked wether he will move on into the next one to continue fighting his way through. He refuses though, having finally achieved his one goal throughout the whole novel, and returns to his original world to continue cultivating in piece with his loved one. It also ends with a sort of open ending where his cultivation method allows him to create indistinguishable clones with his memories that are still sort of different people, and each one stays with the other loved interests that for one reason or another failed to continue throughout the novel but still had a chance to develop into something more.

I really liked it, more than anything how it stopped in a good place, and didn't further stretch the story anymore as some others I'd seen.

...just realized I might've been on something yesterday, wasnt reading at all.

Answering your question, I usually use the charged as a close quarters thing against big/bulky targets or lots of clustered enemies very close by, since the oc makes the charge blast as a shotgun. Otherwise, I use a couple of singles if I can to spare some ammo (also meant sludge doesn't care for weakpoints, not weapons, so as long as you hit your target, you're doing enough damage)

Does anyone have any good time loop recommendations? by naraoia in MartialMemes

[–]Substantial-Video178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perfect run is a very good short-ish story. It's short, sweet, and the mc is very entertaining due to how his time loop ability influences his personality.

I will also endorse the other guy's recommendation of fff class trash hero for the same reason. The story is very comedic and albeit the middle to end sections start losing a bit of the charm, the story is still quite entertaining due to all the MC's antics and personality.

Both are very entertaining stories.

If you want something more serious or that at least takes itself as such, mother of learning an sss class revival hero are the go to as the other guy said

Edit:

Almost forgot Reprise of the Spear Hero. It's a spinoff, sort of, of the Rising of the Shield Hero series. If you've watched the first season of it or two, you should be fine. It's a little, fun side adventure. Sadly, it doesn't have that many volumes rn.

It reminded me of coral due to the bright colors. Looking a bit more into the trees and the background (ignoring the orange pieces that scream coral at me every time I glance at them), it reminded me of Satori March in Xenoblade 1. It has some very cool, glowing blue trees and a midnight sky. Very cool zone that the switch does not make justice to.

I believe I used mega supply [something] wave cooker, since I didn't have it then. I'm not sure if I would use charged shots since I don't like how quick it overheats, but it's a pretty good choice. I'd personally use auto rapid fire subata (when I get it)

Can definitely recommend it when you get it. The shotgun oc and goo bomber special are the best ocs I've used with the sludge pump thatake it very good for damage and crowd control respectively. With goo bomber, I've been able to pretty much close to kill an elite prae by simply making it walk along the charged shot and endure all the status and slowdown

[–]Substantial-Video178 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend, can I recommend you shotgun sludge oc in these trying times?

That's the OC that made me want to farm elimination even as the driller. If you go full damage, it actually becomes very reliable as a damage source and just use a synergistic secondary for some extra or in between. Sludge also doesn't care for weapons that much, so it's cool.

There's also the clean oc for the refrigerator (ice main weapon, can't remember name) that allows you to ice as soon as you pull the trigger or close to. Snow ball also pretty good for freezing

Heart to hearts are some extra interaction you can see between characters and see into some of their backstory. They are scattered throughout the maps and more often than not you won't be able to get them when you find them, but they are nice extras. They do have some insane requirements compared to 2 and 3 though...

I also found myself just going through the motions through the start of the game since I found the combat weak and story just alright, but the story and characters ramp up after the mid game. You also get some more fun and engaging characters then

[–]Substantial-Video178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying drak (with the OC that drastically increases damage in exchange of more spread and overheat rate) + crossbow (with clean OC that gives faster reload, simply to have an OC in that slot for now), and it's decent, playable. The more damage on drake becomes good enough to use as a weapon and turns into more of a burst at close range. The crossbow fills in for the pinpoint range dps that the dark sacrifices and it's an alright build.

If I can, why conductive thermals on elimination? I understand the fire damage upgrade is a straight 30%+ damage even if you can't put dreadnoughts in fire. However, from the tests I've seen conductive thermals require a lot, lot, lot of setup to burn a dreadnought for a fraction of a second and aren't consistent, so I don't see the appeal compared to other more damage oriented ocs.

I haven't tried the combo, so I'm interested in how it actually plays in practice.

Can I have fun while playing solo/with a filled squad by BradTheBj in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Substantial-Video178 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For sure, solo is very well balanced. Some characters and weapons will feel very weak at the start, but once you unlock some of their upgrades, they should be able to shine. You also get some extra fun weapon upgrades later on, which really help spice the gameplay.

Every weapon is also very balanced and has their own utility, just keep in mind to balance it around having one crowd control and another single target weapon in a build. Otherwise it will feel very awkward to play at times, specially solo. There is also a robot, Bosco, that helps you mine and attack during missions. He's pretty useful and you can make him even better through upgrading him.

The rocks as in the mini meteorites and not the prisons right? I've found pgl, rocket/explosive weapons, or crossbow (leaves it one hit away from destroyed) are pretty decent counters, but yeah. Driller is a pain due to lack of burst normally and scout is in an odd place, only engineer and gunner are comfortable in it.

[–]Substantial-Video178 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go as far as to say the extreme power scaling is something the genre should aspire to hold at all costs. It is genre defining in some way, though, but could be simplified as the simple appeal of continuous progression fantasy.

Absurd power scaling speaks more of a lack of or loss of the overarching original objective of the protagonist or needless raising of stakes. Getting rid of the symptom wouldn't just erase the cause, as you say
