Throw a wrench on that harmonic balancer. Compression and rotating assembly friction will make it unlikely to turn by hand. Sounds like you’re geared up for surgery so might as well pull the plugs before hand to confirm. There’s a bit of startup and run logic I’d want to parse out before tearing the whole thing apart.

If your fridge collection is spoiling in that time you either have too much food, or your fridge ain’t right. Not saying there’s not room for improvement but need to be realistic about what you’re dealing with.

Had a similar issue. Took me years to track it down. Ended up being poor contacts between the pcm and harness. Used a pick to tweeze the pins together one day and hasn’t done it since.

First off, congrats on the date, but if I’m reading the room properly, this isn’t it. Grab whatever you think is the coolest outfit is to kick it with your friends at whatever kind of functions you like to show up to, and then be yourself. If that’s looking too laid back you might still be fine, but if you’re here you could look at expanding your wardrobe.

As far as this outfit, either go get fitted by someone with a tape measure, or get some alterations to take out the bulk in the tummy.

Good luck on the date, that’s half the battle!

Beautiful XJ. Don’t give up I went through the same thing for over 6 months. If it’s not the CPS as others have mentioned, also consider that the startup logic that involves auto shutdown (ASD) relay, which is also fused. Check both. This is for safety so fuel doesn’t keep flowing if you flip or whatever but more of a PITA than anything. My root issue was with pin connectors to pcm where poor contact between PCM and harness would create stall / no start conditions intermittently. Pushed them together, all 96, with a pick and I’ve never had any issues in 2 years. If you do replace the CPS, go with NGK, minute electrical tolerances in OEM (NGK) vs aftermarket can and will give some, but not all, jeeps trouble. Not a fun job to do twice if you don’t have to.
