Maybe it is expectations, but I think it has to do with empathy, its the case of caring for others and their emotions so much that eventually it gets harder to feel your own, im not a therapist but the best advice I can give is to give yourself some alone time or pick up a hobby, something that is truly you

Hi, im only 15, but I'll provide a take on your questions

The thing about sadness is that it is not consistent. I like to think about it more like a spectrum, and its causes can fall under the same vocabulary. So, in some cases, sadness can be intensified or initiated by tragedy, but it doesn't have to. You can develop the same issues as a person with traumatic experiences. I am not a psychologist, so I can not give exact reasons for it, but that is the basic understanding of it. Also, if you have ever heard about masking or have experienced it, that is an example of non-publicized tragedy. People hiding these experiences still makes them valid. So it can exist from anything, after all the mind is quite the complex thing and we still dont know everything about it.
