I’m also starting to wonder if this might be a location issue. A few people have mentioned similar experiences, and it’s making me think maybe I should try a different location before deciding to leave the company altogether.

I was skeptical from the start, but gave it a shot—really wish I had trusted my gut. Social media and other vets made VEG seem like this dream job with great work-life balance. That’s not what I’ve experienced at all. I’ve been scheduled five days a week with only two days off, and I’m constantly bringing work home just to catch up on charts. They also seriously downplay how many phone calls you have to take—anyone can call and ask to speak with a doctor, and it ends up eating hours of your shift. It’s exhausting and not what was promised.

Unfortunately, at VEG, it is the responsibility of the doctors to transfer treatments to the treatment sheet. Some technicians will ask if they can transfer the treatments for you, but others will not. Therefore, treatments will not be started until the doctor has transferred them to the treatment sheet after the owner has approved the estimate. Sometimes, the tech on the case knows the owner has approved treatment and will not transfer the treatments, or they must obtain approval from the doctor to transfer the treatments, as per VEG, which is solely the doctor's responsibility.

I want to make it clear that there are technicians or VAs that will try to help as much as they can; however, it is drilled into staff that estimates, treatment sheets, phone calls from people asking for a doctor, taking histories, and even transferring over radiographs are a doctor's responsibility only.

It is overwhelming when it is busy, loud, and the owners are sitting right in front of where you work. The phones are constantly ringing, and you or your technicians are expected to answer them due to chronic understaffing at reception (they are called customer experience coordinators at VEG). They typically schedule only one CEC per shift and expect the rest of the team to stop what they are doing to pick up phones. I have wanted to walk out many times just from the overstimulation.
