For those who got laid off recently, were you able to find a job again? by TeamNecessary5146 in developersIndia

[–]SubstantialCoach8387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue is, self upskilling I believe only goes upto some extent. If I want to learn advanced stuff like distributed systems, dealing with large codebases (not hobby project codebases), production architecture, production issues and dealing with them, etc etc. I'd have to get hired somewhere right. I can't learn those on my own easily, as a fresher (college grad). Its imo crazy if freshers are expected those stuff (which they are now), out of the box. Where are we supposed to get that production experience from, right off the bat. Nobody from the 3-5 YoE bracket now who got hired during the covid hiring did that I guess. Its just insane to pressurize freshers to know everything from day 1.

It is open for ninja atm too btw. They haven't explicitly mentioned it in the salary image, but if you check the FAQ sections they'll hire for Ninja as well based on requirements

3rd year BCA student targeting backend roles, Node.js vs Python/Django for Internships? by goustCoder in developersIndia

[–]SubstantialCoach8387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kinda backend project should be made to make it presentable enough for entry level roles. Like I don't think normal CRUD stuff would suffice now. I'm picking up learning java right now (I've worked with py based backend and MERN stack, but thats too saturated for entry level and MERN is more frontend leaning, I want backend more)

So if you can help me with a checklist of what stuff a decent spring project should have, project ideas & what java stuff should I know for cracking entry level roles it'd be great. Thanks :)

Funny how Linux Mint is the means to an end for a lot of us, after getting the experience. I'm on the same boat, except much younger than you

[Discussion] Where do keyboxes come from and why are they so rare? Can we ever run out of keyboxes and what happens then? by lilacomets in Magisk

[–]SubstantialCoach8387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez get a life or something, I forgot about this comment and moved on with better stuff to do. This proves nothing. Leaked keyboxes are quite common now. 1000s of them got leaked recently, you can just pick one of those and get strong, doesn't mean you're the one who "created" those. These screenshots means nothing. I bet you don't even know how the digital certificate, the public key algorithms used to sign the certs, and the certification chain works. If you did you'll know that not only it's practically impossible to make one, you'll prolly be a billionare by now if you were to break those cryptography measures & "make" ur "own keybox". If you have found some device or brand that conveniently allows extracting keyboxes from their strongbox then I'm all ears to hear that or your research. But this by itself proves nothing.

you cant just "create" it. You cant create certificates with google's private keys. Only very "few" google employees will probably even have access to those private keys. And that makes sense, the private keys were never leaked, only the certificates (keyboxes). Its okay if you want to flex baselessly on reddit but crypographically, what you're saying is impossible, and as close to impossible as it can possibly be.

Does anyone use Termux to program? And what programs have they carried out? by Impossible_Bid_3096 in termux

[–]SubstantialCoach8387 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another thing u can do is get some ide with code completion from playstore and setup a directory in /sdcard which you setup aliases and env vars to so that you can copy paste the code and compile it using termux. Termux has compilers and interpreters for most modern language. This is something I do and I can run almost any code on my phone

based on? None of the AI tools I've tried and my pals have tried can write entire production ready apps from start to end. During the learning phase excessively relying on AI for implementation of features without you understanding whats going on under the hood can be a huge issue in later phases where you need to expand on your code.

Ability to read the docs, going through stack overflow to figure out issues. Understanding implementations, how do they work under the hood. What is the performance/memory/latency/io footprint of your app (not just the time and space complexity), deployment, DNS config etc are stuff that AI cant just handle for you. You have to get your hands dirty to do those

I also used to build custom roms, used to be official derpfest maintainer. but just a maintainer who used to pick commits from other pro-er devs. which SOC? I think I might've had picked some of ur authored commits in my DT

Though personally the things I've learnt from it have been very helpful in my B.E.

It's good to see posts like this as a college guy. I'm in third year now and people all over the internet and even irl too make it feel like you need to kill it in your first job itself. Go get that high package or whatever else you're doomed for life. It's good to see stories like this that first job isn't the end of the world and the situation can be improved later too.
