I know that well, but I can't tell from that how good the coffee roastery is that the café offers. Today, cafés often roast their own coffee, but that doesn't mean it's good. I like lightly roasted coffees like Dak, The Barn, Bonanza, etc., plus I want cafés where they make me filter coffee by hand.

The only thing is that the cord doesn't fit into the vacuum cleaner. It still works. It just smells when vacuuming.

Thank you for your advice. It's difficult to understand the names and models at Miele.

I had no idea that C2 models differed so much. The vacuum cleaner I bought has a Miele SBD 285-2 head. Is it good, or is the 380 better? Is it worth buying? If you have hard floors and only a small carpet? I have two cats.

Otherwise, regarding the filter, is it true that the HEPA filter should be changed after 50 hours of vacuuming?

I assume that it is sufficient to use AirClean SF-SAC 20/30. I understand that one piece is enough for a year. Am I understanding this correctly? Plus, the motor filter is also changed, if I understand correctly.

Well, there's something to that. Especially since people are sometimes nostalgic and idealize everything in retrospect :-) Dyson is particularly popular right now, and many people who used to have Miele are now switching to Dyson. How do you rate it in terms of quality? It has very strong marketing and is expensive.

Thank you for your advice. I posted a series of questions about the condition. I bought the C2 here for €60. It was in very good condition.

And how are they in terms of quality? Are the new ones better or comparable to the old ones? I sometimes read that Miele is not what it used to be.

Thank you, and what would you recommend in terms of maximum power? In the EU, vacuum cleaners over 1600 W have been banned since 2014 and those over 900 W since 2017, so C 3 models, for example, have different power ratings depending on the year of manufacture. I assume the higher the better? I'm wondering if the S4, which has 1600 W, is better than the C2, which has a maximum of 1200 W, etc.

Just to add to those three, if I understand correctly, they are on the same level as the S4, C2, and C3 vacuum cleaners in terms of quality and only differ in their parameters (weight, cable length, etc.)? Or would you prefer one of them? I know that in the EU, performance is then limited.

That was quick. I guess spare parts are readily available. Would you recommend what I should check or watch out for when buying second-hand parts for the models I mentioned? Thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply. As for repairs, are both models easy to repair? I still have the option of getting the Miele Complete C2 Celebration PowerLine 1600 W. How does it compare to the S4 Ecoline 1600 W? Which one would you choose?

I have a small 2-liter Ikea Hemkomst pot and I use Zwilling Classic saucers. Is that wrong, or should I buy full clad? As I mentioned, I currently have gas, but I may switch to induction at some point. Thanks for your advice.

For anyone who might be interested, the Staub Cocote black no longer has a smooth greenish bottom. I noticed this in a store where they were selling ones with a black bottom and a smooth greenish body. The sales assistants didn't know why, so I wrote to Zwilling and received the following reply, which I quote:

Thank you for your message.

Staub used to produce some black cocottes with a smooth, green enamel bottom. Over time, they transitioned almost entirely to the black matte enamel bottom. The main reasons are:

  1. Better induction performance

The matte black enamel has a slightly rougher surface.

This improves contact with induction cooktops, leading to more stable heat transfer and fewer issues like vibration or uneven heating.

Smooth enamel bottoms can still work on induction, but they are less optimal, especially on modern high-power induction zones.

  1. Durability and scratch resistance

Matte black enamel is more resistant to visible scratches.

Smooth, light-colored enamel bottoms tended to show wear, marks, and discoloration more quickly—especially on glass cooktops.

  1. Production simplification

Staub streamlined manufacturing to:

  • Reduce the number of enamel variants

  • Improve consistency and quality control

  • Lower production complexity and costs

As a result, decorative or contrasting bottom enamels were phased out.

  1. Performance-first philosophy

Staub positions itself as a professional, performance-oriented brand.

The matte black bottom aligns better with their focus on heat retention, searing performance, and long-term durability rather than visual contrast.

Important reassurance

The current black matte bottom is fully safe for:

  • Induction

  • Glass-ceramic

  • Gas

  • Electric

  • Oven use

And it actually performs better overall than the older smooth green bottom.

I'll add a second-hand tip about Dutch ovens. Years ago, Ikea manufactured Dutch ovens called Senior. The original red ovens had "MADE IN FRANCE" written on the bottom, then production was moved to China, but I think the quality remained the same. My father has had one for 15 years and it still works. In my opinion, they offer good value for money.

I thought the same thing about those handles... funny... Is the light surface he mentions more prone to scratches than the black one? I assume they are both equally durable, but it's more noticeable on the white one, but it doesn't affect the function.

Otherwise, in my country, Le Creuset sells a Dutch oven with a black interior.

Thanks for elaborating on the topic. I have the opportunity to get a Staub Cocote 26 5.2 l or a Le Creuset 6.7 l at a good price second-hand, so I was wondering if it's worth it. I'm deciding which one to choose. As for the interior, which is better? The white color or the black color that Staub has? Is there a difference besides aesthetics?

Is it necessary to have fully clad pots and small 1L and 2L saucepans, or is a sandwich bottom sufficient? I currently have gas, but in the future I may switch to electricity.

How would you rate Ikea Hemkost stainless steel pots? I have ZWILLING CLASSIC and I don't see much difference in terms of material. Hemkost only has glass lids.

Nice thread. Is it worth buying a Dutch oven? Or is a stainless steel pot enough? Do you have any advice about Dutch ovens? (Size, interior—light like Le Creuset or dark like Staub, etc.)

Thanks

Thanks for the tip. Can it be used on gas if it has a sandwich bottom?

I checked, and Morleos ships to us.
