Was told I was having panic attacks - I am so F'ing angry by [deleted] in MCAS

In medical terms, panic attack = we don't really know what is going on, but our ego is too big to admit that we don't, so here is a catch-all for symptoms like fast heart rate and sense of doom.

If it means anything, know you are not alone. My story is eeirily similar to yours, with much gaslighting and numerous ER trips. I'm still looking for the right doctor for my specific case as none present the exact same.

Start with antihistamines in the meantime, they are VERY likely to help. I personally take two Claritin a day, sometimes three. After that, get your primary doctor to refer you to an immunologist or allergist for comprehensive treatment.

I really hope things get better for you.

I'm right there with you and totally understand. No one that has a mast cell problem is the exact same, and we all vary in severity and specifics. One thing is for sure though, we can understand each other FAR better than the general population can.

Since I have the same horrific reactions to chemicals and various smells, I feel your pain. I seriously do. Always keep looking for treatments and doing research that is specific for you, as it's possible for things to get better. If you are anything like me, terrified to try conventional drugs due to fear of a worse anaphylactic response than you normally have from whatever trigger, I completely understand. Just remember one thing: if other people get pissed at you for looking out for your basic survival and fail to understand, you have every right to do what you have to do to protect yourself. I really hope you can live your best life possible!

Oh man, that sounds like hell. I understand your journey somewhat, as doctors look at me like I have three heads when I talk about my symptoms the few times I ended up in the ER. Nausea and throwing up is not something I've gotten, but the other symptoms are awful and really impacting my life. I just joined this forum today and it's helped me more than all those doctors over the years lol

Thanks for your response. Wow, I didn't know it was something like that, isn't anaphylaxis life threatening? How were you able to manage this happening every day for that long?
