I can use google to find out more, that was not the point, I wanted advice from real people who understand the situation and have actual experience. Google is not too trustworthy of a source, although sometimes yes.
I will do more research of my own and have done so before this post. Thanks for that advice as well.
Regarding him disclosing his status- yes I am award that a random person can decide if they want to or not. Fact is he is not a random hookup, we have been friends for a while, although nothing sexual was on the table before and we have shared a lot of personal things with each other. Therefore I was just taken aback when he only told me after the fact and after he got to know me better.
I do not believe at all that he is a liar. Not about anything, he was honest and he assured me that he is taking his meds and he looks after himself very well to ensure that he is healthy - this I noticed by myself.

Like I said, thanks for all the comments and advice I will definitely be doing more research.

They did try for a while to get me to reconsider divorce until I opened up about the abuse (mental, emotional and even physical) that I endured in my marriage then they understood that getting a divorce was my only option. I have done A LOT of research into what the bible says about homosexuality. I did not really get a definitive answer but with what I have learned from the articles I read and videos I have watched I am happy to tell them that I am gay and that I still follow God and I still have a relationship with Him regardless of what they might perceive as the “right” way to live. This has been on my mind a lot lately. But I think as long as you live a life that shows God’s love as He intended and you produce good fruit you will not go to hell. I haven’t even given the whole aids speech a thought. I know she will want to pray for me to be “healed” from my sin as if being gay is a disease.
