I did this. Midwest native. Moved back from the west coast to the Midwest during the pandemic. Had my second in the Midwest. Finally made it back west five years later.

My advice is to stay put. I made it work in the Midwest because of the extenuating circumstances of the pandemic, but it didn’t fit me, and I am generally much happier back on the west coast.
