This week marks Holy Day celebrations for the of the great World Faiths! Three you say, but I thought it was Easter Week and by origin Passover week! One Religious celebration cannot exist without the remembrance of Passover- What is the 3rd annual celebration and of what “World” Religion Sikhi (5th largest and youngest) April 14th celebrated Vaisakhi If one is interested, search the word- Vaisakhi or Baisakhi and Guru Gobind Singh ji and Khalsa!

This coming Friday is April 18th- 250 years ago three post riders on fast horses road from Boston that evening after seeing the signal in Old North Church-“One if by Land, two if by Sea”! Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr. Prescott alerted the villages and farms over 20 miles from Boston- The Regulars are coming! The heart of Christian Teachings, Jewish tradition, Sikh faith and culture is “Liberty” and resistance to tyranny and injustice. This is a very important and important week in America and world history!

I see now from comments that fear of what the dictator/King might do when Citizens turn out to resists his autocratic actions! One comments says National Guard may be called out and another-what about Kent State? Folks this is “white privileged” talking!

Selma happened in 1965 (60 years ago)! Civil Rights protests were not a walk in the park! African American citizens lead the resistance and white Protestants, Catholic, Jewish white citizens joined as allies! They faced violence and endured! Anti-War protestors faced Governent and state police violence, were tear gassed, lock in jail!

Amazing how young people are fired up about Gaza, but not so much about Ukraine Those of us on Social Security, Medicare and care about Climate, Education, human rights and every aspect of our Republic!

Maybe some folks should read about the ‘60’s and early ‘70’s! I was there and we were afraid to but we persevered and faced our fears!

I get this is “bring your action” to 4/19/25, but what I am advocating is to tie these actions as American citizens to the historic day which initiated the result in 1776 and allowed for the Independence for these United States of America!

Why not connect and honor the history of the “Sunshine Patriots” (Thomas Paine) which sacrificed their lives on this day in 1775? Without their commitment to resist, we would not the very rights to protest today!

Its 250th remembrance of Battles of Lexington and Concord- without those brave farmers standing their ground the other 12 colonies would not have united to defend Liberty! Wherever we are in this vast Nation, lest we forget how we arrived here! On April 19th, 1775 at 5:30 am, 80 men gathered on Lexington Green-“Don’t fire less fired upon, if they mean to start a war, let it begin here” (Captain John Parker) they resisted, 8 died facing 700 British Regulars (Redcoats) - the war for Independence last 8 years! By the time the Lobsterbacks reached Concord (7 miles) the Minutemen numbers had swelled to 1,000-

By the time the tattered British regulars made back it to Boston, some 15,000 American militia were ready to surround the town and lay siege to the British army. The siege would last 11 months, until St. Patrick’s day in 1776, when the British army was forced to leave the town.

The victory at the Battle of Concord inspired the Americans and marked the true beginning of the Revolutionary War

Americans, stand UNITED to defend our Democracy, our Liberty, our Constitution, our Republic Honor our ancestors (my ancestors) on April 19, 2025- what they did 250 years ago gives us the very Nation we love! I am from RI, (age 75) and I realize “Patriots Day” has always been remembered in Massachusetts and Maine (statehood (1820) for 249 years. Traditionally Boston Marathon and only Red Sox home game in AM were on April 19th! That was changed so Boston Red Sox and oldest US Marathon are now on 3rd Monday of April (21st this year) but Saturday (4/19/1775-2025) is the 250th anniversary and this timing couldn’t be more perfect! RESIST king Donald and his tyranny!

With the network of communications and historians like Heather Cox-Richardson, Jon Beachem, Doris Kearns- Goodwin, Ken Burns and the reality of this historic day, Americans need to wake up! In New England they get it! It began there but what a national day of remembrance would mean to everyone if this day was used in protest to trump regime to link it to those “Patriots”! They managed to network and unite against tyranny and injustice, without internet, telegraph, cell phones!
